Ok in boot camp you jump/get pushed of a tower diving area, then you swim face in the water completing one lap. You do the crawl stroke unless you are instructed otherwise. Then you go to a different group and learn how to make a flotation device ou…
That's great to know because my son is in boot camp now and just recently began taking swimming lessons in May of this year. The running and written test; he will have no problems at all. All we can do is send plenty of letters and pray.
Remember that unless they have a computer in their workspace they have to sometimes wait in line to use one. After a 12 hour shift I don't think I'd want to wait in line every day to email. I hope you all hear often!!

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud, Was relieved, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
That my son has grown stronger and that there is alot of people going thru what I am and that we all can be there for each other and that the military is one big family.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Hi Melissa, if you would like to participate in mailing birthday cards to the Sailors on board the Nimitz Birthday, I'll need you to send me your son's name & ship address to me @ navymom0725@aol.com.
Hi Melissa. I found a comment about your son being stationed in Lemoore while searching the city. My husband just got orders today to Lemoore and will also be in the same squadron, VFA-41 Black Ace...we will be moving next month.
Melissa, please tell me if your son ever learned to swim. My son really can't swim that well either and when he called he told me his going everyday to swimming lessons. I had him going to swimming lessons for years and all he did was play around. Thanks fo ryour help.
Melissa, I grew up in AR. Married someone in the military and have moved every since. We are now living in southern Illinois. Our son joined the Navy. He left on Tuesday. This is a hard week. When did your son PIR? Where is he now and what is he doing? I am just trying to keep my sanity. I have a college roommate that teaches in Green Forest. Marilyn Horton Russell.
Hi Melissa,
