Hi Michelle, wanted to stop by and welcome you to the AE/CF group. Will your son be an FC or an ET? Our son wrapped up A school for FC last week but still has a couple of weeks of ATT left. If you have any questions please let us know, alot of great support is in our group.

Actually, Jonathan was born in San Diego while his dad and I were stationed there (long ago). I loved living in San Diego, it's a very beautiful place, but after my divorce, being a native Oregonian, I moved back to my hometown of Milwaukie. Jonathan is currently stationed in Portsmouth, Virginia. He had been stationed in Japan working as an IT and attached to one of the fighter squadrons aboard the USS Kittyhawk. That ended in July and he decided after 7 1/2 years of doing basically the same thing, he wanted a change and made the switch to a VBSS team. He keeps the IT rate, but now instead of working on communications and computers, he will be boarding ships and doing search and siezure. Repelling from helicopters onto the decks of moving ships....just the kind of stuff that makes your hair turn gray!! He is having the time of his life, it's much more physical and he is thrilled with the prospect of doing more "police" type work. His team is still in training, so for now he is staying put on dry land, but that will change fairly soon I'm sure.

Hi Michele, nice to see someone close to home (that actually knows where Molalla is!) also on this wonderful site for Navy moms. I'm new to Navy Moms.com, but have been "a Navy Mom" since May 2001. Ty is done with boot camp now, now it's school time. That time was a few years ago for me and my son, Jonathan, but I sure do remember it well. I look forward to reading about the other sailors from our area.

Tony will start his classed on the 6th of October. And he is anything but bored he is 2 min walking to the beach and has yet to get there yet. He is doing his Indoc this week and did duty the whole weekend so he is only tired and excited because he got to got to the biggest naval museum yesterday. He is happy but home sick. Heres and idea for a gift Tony wants a nice video camera to take pics and videos and share what he sees.

Hi michele I am glad that Ty graduated with all the others. What school is he in now? Tony is tucked away in Florida right now. I talk to him everyday it is so nice. I never did find out if it was Tony harrasing Ty or not on the phone that day. Now that i talk to him more I will ask if it was him he may not remember. What trying times those were HUH?

Michele,
I just read Tammy, Robben's Mom's page and saw that Ty did graduate but just didn't participate! That was the word that was going around. MomStew and I were in the NEX following the graduation and it seemed everyone else was in the small store. She yelled to me that the rumor was that Ty had graduated and someone spotted him in the stands. I immediately asked Amy and she said she didn't know anything about it. WOW, he did it!! How do you feel about not being there? We sure missed you! Amy is in Texas right now and doesn't start A school until October 21. When does Ty officially start?

Tessie called last night asking us to send her cell phone....lol. She said she would call with the address later that night but never did. She loves A-school although it has not started. She has a good roommate...not one of the nasty girls from boot camp.
I am responding on this as my computer has a problem with the cord that charges it. I have to bring it in for repair. It just came off warranty..figures.
E-mail me at work, Linda.Lindner@Wachovia.com. Once the computer is repaired we can communicate with my other e-mail.
You are lucky if Ty will get to come home for Christmas Tessie probably wont. She will be home in November, after Thanksgiving. Close enough I guess.
I hope you hear from Ty soon.
Take Care.

I am so glad he did in fact graduate, on the other hand so sorry you missed it. There is a video you can order....ask Ty about it. Tessie had ordered us one, it has not yet arrived here though. At least you can watch his special day. Are you planning on going to visit him?
Tessie is ow in Pensacola, she arrived yesterday. She starts A-school in two weeks. She will be home for two weeks in November.....yipee. Then probably on a carrier.
Michelle, please keep in touch.

Once again the blonde has all the luck, darn u Michele, grays don't show up in blonde hair, do they? I think I mentioned that Erica never gave me a moments grief, and that Robben gave me grey hairs, but I think I'll change that to Robben introduced me to Loreal, cause she visits every 4 to 6 weeks tehetehetehe

Left for Boot Camp

Wow, I can't believe that my first-born has flown the coop. We had a family dinner last night. Everyone came. I don't think they realize how much that meant to me. Even his recruiter was there. Pictures were taken and hugs were given. I was a little teary-eyed, but failed to handle it after we dropped Ty off at the hotel. On the drive home, I lost it. Becasue there wasn't any KleenX , I had to use a bunched up towel that was in the side pocket of the car. I couldn't contain myself; I threw my su… Continue
