I remember earlier when moms were talking about upcoming birthdays that your son has one in September. If he'd like an extra bday greeting, I'd be happy to send one if you want to give me his name/rank and DIV. My daughter Katie is a DC on the Essex, what rate is your son?

Hi Michelle, Glad to hear from you! This week end has really been busy. Just wanted to drop you a line and tell you Happy Memorial Day. Very proud of my step-daughter Alexis for joining the Navy. She will have so many more chances to do stuff with her life. Looking forward to talk to you more later.
Thanks,
Pam (Alexis step-mom)

Hello Michelle, Hans barely had time to recover from his jeg lag and now he is out to sea. We are praying for the safety of everyone on the ship.

Hello Michelle, Hans is an E-3 and a yeoman. I gues he is getting a tour of the ship today as it is Friday morning there. He called us this morning (night for Japan) and said his sponsor would show him around the Essex in the morning.

His name is Jonathan Connor. He is a fire controlman. He has been on the Essex since last February. He has never been one to communicate and hasn't changed much. I get no news. He was home for less than two weeks after Christmas. It cost him over $2400.00. I found a picture of him on the internet recently. The caption read:
SEA OF JAPAN (Dec. 4, 2008) Fire Controlman 3rd Class Jonathan Connor, assigned to the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2), steadies a Sea Sparrow surface missile during a download of the Sea Sparrow Surface Missile System. Essex serves as the flagship for Combined Task Force 76, the Navy's only forward-deployed amphibious force commander.

Hi Michelle,
Sorry it took so long to write back..My daughter has been on the Essex, pretty much as long as your son Stephen. Her title is Fireman/Engineer...so I'm wondering if they know each other...lol. She has been enjoying the traveling too. ..been alot of places....but she works very hard. She gets up at the crack of dawn and barely enough time to have to eat and then back at work...till aprox. 10:00 at niight. I totaly miss her. It's been too long...but it's been so good for her...as I'm sure you know. It has brought us closer together.
So, it would be interesting to know if they know each other...:)
