Wow, you should be proud Emily. The USS Bush is the newest carrier in the Navy. It will be one of the most powerful warships in the world when done, right up there with the USS Ronald Regan. I'd be doing cartwheels if my son were to be lucky enough…
Hello. My son is in Div. 127, graduated March 20th, and is still in Great Lakes waiting for an opening in A-school. He's an IC, internal communications. He says he'll be at Great Lakes for the next year.
Hello all, my son just graduated on March 20th, and is still waiting for his A-school assignment. He's still at Great Lakes and said he will be there for the next year. How long do sailors usually have to wait for an opening in A-school?
Interior Communication Electrician; What is it? Who knows? Want to find out? There are not many IC sailors so this is just the place to share your experiences about what our loved ones have done or what they are currently doing. =)

Hi Mike, Congrats on your new US Sailor! I live about 40 mins. northwest of Baltimore and work in Westminster. My son is on the USS Boxer currently on deployment, homeport San Diego. Yes, Capt Phillips was on his ship! He PIR Feb 8, '08. This deployment has been difficult but one i will manage through. Welcome!
Hi Mike,
I saw your profile picture pop up on the IC group page. I wanted to let you know there is another IC group which I started back in Sept. Your welcomed to join us there too if you like. I am also a member on the NavyDads web site and have started an IC group over there as well, but currently I am the only member on that group. If you haven't already visited the site, I would encourage you to when you have the time. It's another great source of information and support to go along with N4M's.
My son, Billy is in San Diego attending C-Schools for his IC rate. He'll finish his last class around the end of Sept. and then report to the destroyer USS Howard.
Best wishes to you your sailor!
