Profile Information

About me:
Daily I combine employment in two part-time positions, one of which is as the Safety Program Coordinator with a communications company. My husband and I thoroughly enjoy the quiet life of living in a beautiful, rural area in northwestern Minnesota, where we raised our sons.
I am here to support or represent my:
Self
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Officer
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I am learning that the best way to support our son is to remain positive, confident and filled with faith, no matter the situation, and to celebrate his decisions with him.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Mimi,
Matt passed his physical and I am so relieved. Haven't heard a word from him about the test.

Hi Mimi,
Guess the big test is tomorrow. I know that the guys are all studying hard. Matt had his physical today but we haven't heard from him yet. We are always worried about the physicals since he was in the car accident. Have you checked out the sub moms group? I read it to see what is going on there, too. It is very interesting to see subs thru the mom's eyes who sons have already made it and are aboard the subs. Keep in touch.

I think it is the Thursday or Friday before Easter. Josh still hasn't given me all the details. There is a mom named Lynn on this site whose son is already deployed on a sub and she told me this is their last graduation. There isn't a graduation after prototype, so what ever this ceremony is, I'm not going to miss it!

Hi Mimi,
How's your son doing? My son is doing well. We are over half way through! I am getting excited to visit for his graduation in April. If there is anything I can help you with just ask!

Hi Mimi,
Was your son in preschool? Mine was and will start power school next week. Who knows our boys could be in the same power class if that is the case. I think Matt said they divide them up into two-three different classes. Where did your son decide to live? Mine lives in Mount Pleasant and seems to like it. I helped him move in and I like the area also. We will have to keep in touch and hopefully between our boys we can keep up with what is going on. Is Tim going sub or SWO?

Hi Mimi,

Read that your son started power school in January. My son, Matt, will start next week (which puts them about a month behind each other). Is there anything I should know to help him or anything I should not do? This is all new to me and any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Mimi,
I too, am a MN Mom. My daughter is an Ensign in "tailhook" flight school in Kingsville, TX. She graduated in 07 from Virginia Tech. She went to API in Pensacola and then was transferred to primary flight school in Corpus Christi. I had the privilege of spending 3 months with her. We are from Crosslake, MN just NE of Brainerd 23 miles. Nice to know other MN moms. I also just saw the MN navy family on your homepage.
Thanks and welcome.
Chris
