Ruth Ann.....do they call your son "mumble"? My daughter was teasing me because we use first names and they use last. They referred to her as "commander" because she looked like someone else. Anyone besides her still doing A school in GL like her?

Ok. Got the order from my daughter she is frustrated because SHE only know our kids by last name or nickname. They called her "commander" and I think she calls Matt "mumble"..of he's the one with "BC's". My daughter is Reaux (Rayo).

Yea....mail day! I got a name too! My daughter has been named the "information officer" and her bunk mate is SR Reese......geez can't believe no first names! They are getting ready for weapons and she is excited. All seems to be going good

Hi and welcome to Maryland for Moms and wives. So glad you found us. There is also another group called Maryland Moms if you are interested in that group also. I am in southern Maryland. I understand that there is a meet and greet at Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis on Dec 13 if you can make it. I am going to try, I would love to meet others and start making new friends. How is your sailor? Mine is about to go on his first underwater adventure and I am very nervous, probably enough for the both of us, LOL. Thank your son for us and the family also for the sacrifices that you have all made and will make for all of us. Have a great day and look forward to getting to know you.

I know it is hard to think of things to write about. During the day, at work or whatever, when I think of something to write about, I just jot it down on a little note book or record it on my cell memo. I have written about the weather changing, what a dork his father still is (no really!) ;) etc... I think they probably will be happy to read just about anything positive coming from home. I think this is more of a therapy for me but I have been going to stores...Hallmark...Pharmacies...Grocery Store and Picking out some really neat cards and sending them. Some are funny, some are mushy, and some for support. I even found military cards @ Hallmark @the Mall. Its really hard not to cry when I'm standing there reading a card that hits my heart. People probably wonder what my problem is. Oh well I dont care. I have a whole stack of cards here at home that I have picked out. When I run out of things to write about I'll grab one of the cards, write a couple of lines in it (cant forget the XXX's & 000's) seal it with a kiss & mail it off.

So Glad to hear from you. Josh is 18 and graduated this year from Tech Hi. He went 2 BHS except for the last 2 years. He has alot of friends from Boons. I received the box exactly 1 week after he arrived @ GL. The letter 2 days after that. This has been so draining. It feels like I have added 10 years to my life in 1 week. And its only just begun. How is your daughter doing? Does she like it?
