About me:
I am actually not a Navy Mom... but I am a Navy sister and I am the oldest sister. We are 5 girls and 1 boy. I am married and have 3 kids... 2 girls and 1 boy.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was confused, Needed to learn more about it, Said “No way!”
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Support your recruit as much as possible and encourge them weather you agree or not with their decision.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger

Please come and join Northern California Navy Moms Group.

On above menu bar, click on GROUPS. A page will come up with in large print Features Groups and just above this in small print All Groups and My Groups.
Input Northern California Navy Moms in the blank space and hit search. The group will show up. You can take it from there. You can use this method to find other groups of your interest (such as submarine, nuke, PIR, OCS, etc.)

To see if you have any request to be a Friend or to whom you have sent a request:
If you click on MY PAGE on the menu bar, then "My Friends" in your own page, you'll find three headings, "My Friends", "Requested Received" and "Request Sent". Many members have their PAGE set to private - to view their pages, you have to be a "Friend".

Be sure to check events on the lower left hand side of your screen. We have Meet and Greet in Nevada City on Sept 13. There will be lots of info about this here.

He did say they all passed the test - so they got classed up. Then last Saturday he took another test - if they passed that one and if they pass some inspections - then they get to go to Phase 2 I guess. Has your brother started classes yet?

My son got to San Antonio on the 1st of Oct. They did a test on Thursday and all passed so they got classed up and got to start classes on Oct. 6th instead of the 13th. He likes his roommate real well he said. He took a test this past Saturday - to see if he can make it to Phase two. Then they get to wear civilian clothes on weekends if not on duty I guess. Hopefully he finds out today if he passed. He got pepper sprayed last Thursday. Said is wasn't fun (duyh!!) but he was one of the first ones to come out of it. But he found out that when they took a shower later - that warm water reactivates it!!! He seems to be doing well - and enjoys the life at A school. He also enjoys his superiors - they seem helpful and friendly he said.
Hope your brother gets to start soon. My son should be done with A school on November 21st and then gets to come home on leave for about two weeks I think. We'll know more later for sure. He said he'll find out in about two weeks where he will be stationed then. So he hopefully will be home for Thanksgiving - but not Christmas! Keep in touch - bye.

Hi Mirella --
Have you heard from your brother since he got to "A" school at San Antonio? We heard from our son before he flew out on Wednesday morning and then he called Thursday night from the mini mall on base. I guess they had to go there to purchase a pillow and comforter. From what I understand - he said he would get upclassed on Friday - so they would be able to start classes then. Let me know if you have hard anything.

Hi Mirella. I spoke to Christopher just tonight and he said they had gotten settled in to their rooms-I guess he is rooming with two other sailors but he didn't mention any names. He seemed a little down today (probably over-tired) and I told him he'd feel better once he had been there for awhile. (Could be that he really misses his girl friend too!)

Hi Mirella! No, Christopher didn't go to Virginia Beach for MA, so it might be someone else. I haven't heard from him yet today, but I will ask him when he calls next. I will probably also have more information about who he is rooming with then - talk with you soon!

Hi Mirella-Glad to hear that you got news. My James called about 7:00 A.M. east coast time this morning-he was at the airport. He called tonight at 8:30 and got to Texas safely. At least now we can talk more. He has asked for his computer and Some other stuff so I'll have to get a box together when he calls with his new address. I'm surprised your brother went to VA. -I thought the only MAA training was in Texas. Good luck and stay in touch.

I don't know! I'll have to ask him! We are originally from Connecticut, so it wouldn't surprise me if he went by that nickname. Does Lazaro know him?
