When my son first went to MEPS, I asked him to ask the recruiter if I should go. The recruiter said I could, but Jordon didn't really want me there. He's definately a mama's boy, so for him to show this form of independence was kind of refreshing ...

I know that when my son Jake was leaving for bc, we were there at MEPS with him to say goodbye. Very hard by the way to do that. We even got to take pictures in the mock swearing in. He was sworn in the first time he went to MEPS but they ahd othe...

MissUAlready...if you go to my page you can view the swearing in ceremony @ MEPS. My boy is directly to the left of the camera, the really really tall one..hehe

When my son went for physicals he went with his recruiter. When his date came up to swear in and leave for Great Lakes we were there with bells on! You can video the swearing in ceremony, which lasts only long enough for the officer in charge, swe...

if it is his first time going to meps - no they just do physical and sign contract. If it is for him to leave for bootcamp, they usually leave from recruiting office = Time to say goodbye = they stay overnight in boston go to meps in morning then ...

Did any of you go with your sailors when they went to MEPS in Boston? I am being told parents don't go to that because it is just the physical and then they swear in and it's nothing "special"...huh? I have seen everything my kid has done....ever....

I would go to this group and ask here - Click Here Tell them that I said that since Rhode Island is so small they must only have one MEPS!! hehe - I tell some of them that we have one ranch in Texas (King's Ranch) that is the size of Rhode Island.

My daughter, Ashley (20), has been in the Navy since July 2007 and is an IT3 & my son Tim (19) has been in since Feb 2008 stationed on the USS Nimitz.. What is your son/daughter doing with the Navy? Good Morning. Thanks for adding me as a friend. Thank you for your compliments. My son is 19 and E-3. He is in P'Cola and has signed to be a Cryptologist Technician Admin.(classified) Right now he is awaiting A school and seves as a Core Mentor, He greets all new sailors that come to P'Cola and I guess show them their new home. My son can not talk about the job, wish is a little tough on me talking to him. The best place for you to start would be bootcampnavyformoms group. you can find it in groups. You are also welcome to join my group as well listed below in my welcome to you. But bootcampnavyformms a great start for tou as your son or daughter is a recruit. Have a nice day. Blessings

Welcome aboard!! We are so glad that you are here! This is a great place to meet others that know exactly how you feel!
We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.
