Hi Sheila,
Let your son make this decision. My son was completely jazzed about joining and decided to join a year before he graduated. Even with all of his excitement in joining bootcamp was very difficult. It was his personal drive to succeed that…
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Kids make choices for themselves and the very best thing that we can do for them is to stand by them and give our support where and when they need it. We've spent years teaching them to make good, sound choices for themselves and to be responsible people - now we have to trust that we did our job well and let them make choices. Not easy by any means - but it really makes the difference in the long run.
Missy, I'm glad you found my little "library!" Getting those emails while on cruise IS a big deal for our submariners... great to know I helped ya'll out! Hugs, k.
Missy,
Welcome to the Bangor/Bremerton/Kitsap Sailor and Family group. There are plenty of wonderful moms and dads on this group who will be here to help, support, and answer questions you may have. Do you have a sailor stationed here? Some of our members live nearby, others, like myself, have our sailors stationed there. This group gives us some insights to the environment our sailors are living in!!
Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!

Hi Missy,
John passed BS on 10/17. He was on hold for recovery for 2 weeks. He's currently "on hold" waiting for A school to start in Great Lakes. He's going to school for ET or IT. He said he'll be on hold for 3 weeks. Since he was sick, he did not have a grad. ceremony. We are flying up to see him on 10/31.

Missy:
My son was coughing and sounded sick but most of all, so dissappointed. He told me that they were moving him into another division so I called his recruiter as soon as we hung up. No word back from his recruiter but he told me that getting moved to another division meant that they would keep him there another week.
I hope they continue to give them a chance this week but I thought that today was the last opportunity.
Hi Missy,
Yes, John's GF & I will be at the meet & greet. Hubby decided he'll stay at our hotel with my 9 & 10 year olds. I can't wait to meet everyone, then graduation the next day! It seems like time crawled by for the first weeks, now it's zooming!! 9 DAYS & 15 HOURS TIL PIR!!!!
Jeannie
Hi Missy,
John has called twice, I've been at work both times so I missed the calls. He hasn't mentioned anything that's going on up there! Just says he's doing good & having a good time.
Jeannie
