Has there been any word about the Tour buses for the tiger cruise leaving Norfolk??? If so when and what the times may be if known?? Is there a web site I can go to... Thanks for the help!!

Hi Misty, My son is an EM2 on the Ike. We live south of you in Morgantown, WV. He has been in the Navy about three years now but I still feel really new to all this. If I can help in any way let me know...united we stand or HOLD each other up when needed.

Yes, this is Alex's first deployment. I am sure that it is harder on me than it is on him. :(
We had his mailing address before he left because he was living on the ship after he transfered up from Pensacola. It has taken us a week to gat his email address though. He is calling from the ship about twice a week. They are able to purchase ship-to-shore phone cards on the ship. I think they are 20 minutes for $20.00. I think that's a small price to pay to get to talk to him and make sure that all is OK. I know that they are porting soon and he is really excited. I hope that he takes lots of pictures.

My son is also an ABH on the Eisenhower. His name is Alex and he is in V-1 division(?). Maybe she can look him up and give him a hug from his Mom. I hope she has a safe trip. If she is at home on leave now give her BIG hugs. You will miss her BUNCHES!!

Hi Misti,

First of all welcome to the IKE family:) Please be very careful on posting dates/times and such on what the IKE is doing please...read over the posting of OPSEC on top of the USS Eisenhower IKE FAMILY page that explains it very well..
Again welcome:) I just worry that putting info like that on any site might endanger our Sailor's and we wouldn't want that.

Hi Misti...thanks for thinking about me......I'm Ok....I have my moments of course, but I am doing my best to not let Robert witness any of them. He is very excited to get going...I ask him if he was nevous and he very calmly said no...I would be scared to death if I were him. When Courtney went to be sworn in did you go to see it or did you say goodbye the night before? Just curious and not sure what to do.....Congratulations on Courtneys Graduation. Hope you enjoy your time together before she goes again. Thanks again for thinking about me...talk to you soon.

Hi Misti.....I was wondering if you could give me some ideas on what to expect in the upcoming days....Robert will be leaving on Feb 19th....trying o get info from him is like pulling teeth sometimes....boys just don't think things are as big of a deal as their Mothers make them out to be I guess. He makes fun of me (lovingly) because I have a count down till he leaves. It has really hit me this weekend that he will be leaving so very soon and I feel very helpless right now. Any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Shelley

Hi Misti....thank-you for the welcome.....I was surprised to see that you live so close to me. Robert will be leaving for bootcamp Feb 19th and from there will go to Texas for A school....(forgive me if I get the lingo wrong I am still very new to all of this). I look forward to talking to you and sharing the experience you have had so far. I love the picture of you and your daughter...she looks very happy. Merry Christmas
