Wow. I am amazed that so much information is available to the general public. Maybe too much information is available. Have faith in your Sailor, his team, and training. We have the best Navy in the world.

When's the last time you've heard about a Navy ship sinking? Not to sound saracastic, cause this is not meant to be so, but there's way too much value to these ships (and the crew!) for them to be deployed without being seaworthy. Sometimes I thin...

Uneasy mom.

Well , at last my son Christopher will be going in early October out to sea, for a two month tour and it looks like some of the Carribbean area will be a part of that adventure. I am uneasy because I know that the LDH-1 WASP ship that my son is assigned to has had some real maintenance issues over the past two years. They've had engine problems/fires etc. I've done lots of research on this vessell from when it was commissioned to full descriptions of it online, pics, blueprints and info on how m… Continue

Keep your eyes peeled. If someone decides to take charge they'll probably announce it through the Blogs, Events, etc. :)

Cristina -

So far, we haven't had any moms step up to help plan an N4M table or other volunteer activity at Houston Navy Week. Are you interested? If so, you can take the lead! :)

Let me know and I can help you start to organize things. If not, keep your eyes peeled as the months go by for Blogs or other Events planned by moms for Houston.

Have you joined the Texas Moms Group? If not, visit the Group tab and you can find some moms there that might be near your area in the meantime!

Hi Christina, welcome to Navy for Mom's:)) You will find a lot of answers, support and encouragement here. My daughter, Ashley (20), has been in the Navy for 2 years and is an IT3 & my son Tim (19) has been in since Feb 2008 stationed on the USS Nimitz. What is your son doing with the Navy? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad you joined and look forward to hearing more about you & your Sailor. Pat
