About me:
Very Very Proud Mom ...
I am here to support or represent my:
Lisa
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Needed to learn more about it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
How strong and independent my daughter is. I really already knew that but this is such a huge commitment. She enlisted for 6 years. I said "Sounds like a career" I have to admit, I am a little bit jealous. She will have many adventures. Our relationship has been great always. It will continue to grow I am sure.

Wow, you live in New York, I live in California we couldn't be further apart....lol.

Thank you very much for the info. I did not know the hotels had shuttles. I did make a reservation that said within walking distance, so I'm hoping no rain! I am very much looking forward to this experience. Are video cameras allowed? Is this held inside somewhere like an auditorium? Don't mean to bother you with a million questions, but I just don't know what to expect at all! Other than I'll probably cry...like I usually do!

Dear Nancy,
My girlfriend Rosa and I were talking about this. If Kim marries Bozo, he gets her paycheck. I'm sure he knows that too. He saw Kim coming, that's for sure!!!
I get Kim's bank statments, she spends money faster then it comes in. She has saved nothing.
I wrote to her about saving some money, and put herself on a budget of spending. Knowing her, she'll write back, it's her money, I know I know!!
Kim is far from being bright. It's a shame to say that, but it's true!! It is so easy to pull the wool over her head, it's scary.
For instance, if you tell her the sky is falling, with out thinking, she would look up and ask "Where".
I wish I was exaggerating!!!
I love her with all my heart, but she is not bright at all. She can be so stupid, and not realize it.
That's what I am so scared about, she doesn't think!!
I know Bozo saw a meal ticket when he met her!!!
Any way, I keep bending God's ear on this one.!!
Let me get going.
Take care and God bless.

Barbara

Dear Nancy,
Nope, mom and dad kicked him out. He has no family. Has either a High school or GED diploma, he got accepted in the Navy. Navy discharged him on depression.
Bozo wants to be an actor.

Their both only 19. Last month, Kim wanted to secretly marry Bozo. Darlene told me. I got on the phone, and tried to talk calmly to Kim. As far as we know, she's still single, but still plans to marry Bozo.

Kim wrote to me today, nothing said yet about her coming home. But informed me that when she does, she's going to Arkansas to see Bozo first.

God forbid she gets pregnant!!! Bozo, being a kid himself raising my gradbaby, with no family to lend a hand. I will have no say in the matter, that what kills me.

And me with the Meniere's Disease, I am in no shape to chase a two year old down the block with my walker!!! Picture that sight!! HAHA!!

Every night I keep this situation in prayer, and just trust in God, to wake Kim up and dump this loser!!!

He wants to be an actor, isn't that nice, so my daughter can support him, in other words!!

Darlene and I have fought over this. She keeps telling me to mind my business. I tell her Kim is my business. Unfortuantly, the two love birds are of age to do this mistake.

Kim finishes A School this Friday, then she'll be put on HOLD for awhile.

So that's my excitment!! Lovely, isn't it? UGH!!
I don't know, maybe I dropped Kim on her head as a baby!! She has no brains some times!!

If Bozo had family, and some sort of education or trade to fall back on, I wouldn't be so upset over this. They're still way too young to think marriage.

I have to kiss up and be sweet to Kim, this is such a delicate matter. I don't want to lose her.!!

That's it's for the moment.
Take care and God bless.

Barbara

Hi choice. He is 20. He may regret it. You can imagine how very frustrated he must be to choose this route just to get out of Pensacola.

Dear Nancy,
I know I have no business myself smoking. With not working any longer, I know I smoke more now.
Try the comment longes, I probably misspelled it. It's from the Nicorette company. The gum is good too, but it's a tough chewing gum it losens my caps.!! HAHA!!!
I should talk, last year I was hospitalized for carbon dioxide poisoning from the cigarettes.
I remember 23, wasn't that only a few years back!!! HAHA!!! Can you believe how many years have flown by with our children!!! WOW!!
Did I tell you about Kim wanting to get married, she's only 19, just met this Bozo, he wants to be an actor, family kicked him out, he's also 19.
We somehow talked her out of getting married for the moment, but is still with Bozo. They met a little over a month ago. The Navy makes him depressed, so he's getting a discharge.
More gray hair!!!! Time to dye again!!! HAHA!!!
I guess that's it for the moment. The temperature was well over 90 again!! UGH!!!
Take care and God bless.

Dear Nancy,
No, please don't think I was mad at you. I did read your e-mail.
I wasn't on the computer again because of my eyes. I'm allergic to the damn rabbit fur, and I've been sitting in the dark with sungleasses, again!! UGH.!!
I'm back though, sitting here with my sunglasses on.
That young man Lisa went out with, sounds like a good one!!! Good for her. I was very happy to about that. To be honest, I doubted that there were any more gentlemen out there!!
I wish Lisa all the best, this young man sounds like a "keeper"
Every night, I keep in pray that my older daughter meets some one decent. She's 23 already. So far, all lossers!!
So how have you been? Other than my eyes, I'm good, now that the weather is cooling down, thank God.!!!
I'm still hoping to go to the Renaisance Faire. I spoke to my older one, Darlene, she doesnt' know when we'll go. It only has two more weekends to go!!
Kim called and said she's graduating A School next Friday. I was in tears when she said that.
Nothing yet on here next destination.
Let me get going. Please, Nancy don't ever think I could be mad at you, for what?
Take care and God bless.

Barbara

Nancy, I appreciate your comments. However, there are sailors, including mine, who have tried to do what they can to further Navy careers while waiting and they are foiled at every step by disorganization and what seems at a set up for failure for many of the sailors.

After being moved three times, losing his first rating to too many in the "pool" and now having been restricted for 30 days because of a roommates unsat room inspection. He is ready to go undesignated airman just to get on with any training. They had told him that he probably would not class up until after Christmas. He is ready to actually do something...anything besides mop the same floor over and over in the same day....and then be told he screwed up.

I am frustrated for him. He does not really complain...just states it like it is. He was so happy after bootcamp and now is just ready to move on.

Dear Nancy,
How have you been, I missed you.
Did Lisa start A School yet?
Kim just wrote, she's expected to graduate A School next Friday. The Sailors have their own little thing on that. I was in tears, I was so proud of her.
All we know right now, is that when she's done, she'll be put on HOLD. Another mom I write to, whose son had the same training, he too is on HOLD. Nothing said about coming home yet.
The weather is finaly cooling down, thank God.
Now I want to go apple picking, and go to the Renisance Faire again.
I already have reservations for a motel for October, my older daughter, God daughter and I are going to Salem, Massachuttes, last week of October!! Can't wait!! HOORAY!!!
Nothing else exiting, maybe that's good!! HAHA!!
I was just thinking of you, the other day about when you said your weeds were on steriods!!! HAHA!! I can't keep up with my weeds either.
Please stay in touch. I miss hearing from you.
I wish Lisa all the best with A School.
Take care and God bless.
Your friend.

Hi Pam, Sorry, I havent been on here much at all. Since getting home I still feel like Im doing catch up. Lisa started classes yesterday. She said that everyone is at their own pace. She said it isnt like a class where everyone is learning the same thing. It is all on a computer and everyone is at a different place in their training. I dont think they are put on hold. It just seems that administratively it takes a while to get the new sailors (or ... Lisa told me they are Airmen) or new Airmen organized. She did have some other general classes that everyone had to go through. Im sure the weather has not been a help down there........
