Hey Natasha! I saw your post on "how to hold down a job while married to the navy." I was curious if you had any luck on the job front yet? My degree is in Communication with an emphasis in Media (PR, Broadcasting, Print, etc.). My husband and I got married five months ago and we will not move to a base or navy area until January. So I've been looking at different websites already like the usajobs.gov but didn't know if you found anything in that field yet. And sorry for randomly posting on your wall.

Thanks for the advice. :) Makes a lot of sense. Nice to find another planner that's making things work for her. Hahaha, any advice on how to find the balance between a sincere desire to plan and prepare but also be accepting of everything being changed with next to no notice? That's basically the main thing I'm worried about in terms of military life, actually.

I was going to ask you the same thing! Where ya been, Girl?!?!

After Friday's blizzard, there is almost NO snow left, and it's in the high 60's here today. Crazy Texas weather for sure.

I'm going to be in Houston for the next four days at a library conference with limited Internet access. You guys hold the fort, and hold up each other. I will be checking in when I have a chance.

I feel like a kid at Christmas. It's just not getting here quick enough! AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!

Hi Natasha....stalking is permitted...LOL
Most rates (not all) have to take ATT & AWAT. Those classes are esy to get into. They sailor just needs to be diligent about getting them under their belt so when the AM class is ready they are too. Some have missed getting into a class becuase they slacked off on getting those classes completed. I have seen some who arrive after another get into class because they were prepared. They will explain all this to him in INDOC Classes. he needs to soak up as much information as he can.

Thanks Natasha, my son is also going to Pcola. He is going for Aviation Electronics. So I will keep my fingers crossed that he will at least have the weekend to visit. The girlfriend is going with us to PIR so I will have to share my time so was hoping we would have more than a couple of hours. Thanks again. Laurie

Yes, Natasha, I received your pic. It is already printed and ready for a button, thanks. The count down is 17 days!!! Hurray!!! It must be really hard for you just being married and all. I went through that with my first husband, He went into the Army two weeks after we married, back during Viet Nam. It was really hard. Hang in there, you'll be in his arms again soon. Where is he going for A school? Will you follow?

Natasha, my understanding is info for a button for the meet and greet is to be sent to Jackie (Matt's mom). Should be a picture of you, his division #, ship # and where he is headed and rate (like my son is going to Corry for A school and to be a CTN.
The ribbon pin is for Graduation so we all recognize each as we have been "talking" for all of these weeks as well as cyber hand holding! I made one up and suggested the Navy pin in the middle to hold it together and also to pin it on with. If you have a pin, just find a small piece of red/white/blue ribbon, cut it about 10 inches long, fold toward you to make a loop at the top )like the pin cancer awareness pins) so that the colored side of the ribbon is face up. Red or blue can be at the top. When you cross the 2 tails over each other, you should just put the pin through the white section and you are done. Now if you do not have ribbon, give me a couple of days to look for ribbon here as I need some anyway. Then I can send you a complete ribbon pin or just the ribbon, ok? I am pretty sure Kelly will have plenty at the meet and greet also.
I will not be at the meet and greet until later as our plane gets into Midway around 6 p.m. Anyway, I hope this clears it up for you! If not, let me know. I am so glad we will get to meet everyone-I feel like I've discovered family!

Hey Natasha, I was just about to send you a msg today...been wondering where you were! So glad you got letters...I got NOTHING, and am really feeling blue...doesnt help that I was sick all spring break, and Sara's doofus b/f is pulling some 'stuff' that is stressing me. I just want to hear her voice....I know she worries about HIM and she has reason to, unlike your hubby...lol.
