As a group, we would like to adopt a group of sailors and send letters and/or packages. I think we N4M could make a big difference in some sailors lives if all of us would just write one letter (you can do more if you want)

Hello Erin and Susan X 2. Mayport is a small base, but very easy to get around if you ever visit. The Navy Lodge is wonderful for anyone visiting their Sailor. It's just steps away from the beach and we could see dolphins from our balcony early in t…

Hey Robin, Andrew earned his ESWS last year while on deployment. I think he started working on it a few weeks after they got underway. I'll have to ask him how many months, but I know it was a lot of work. Hey Sandi, yep.....it's me. LOL

I believe there is a shuttle. This is from a previous post so hope it is still true :We stayed at the Navy Lodge when we were there for our sons PIR. It's approx. 1.5 miles away from RTC. You can always call them to double check. I would recommend the shuttle, which we took. It's about $3 per person, and they drop you off at the entrance of RTC. RTC guards will show you where security is. You'll be escorted to the Navy FCU, where you'll wait until there's enough people to be escorted to PIR. Enjoy PIR. What an experience you are going to have, and congratulations!

Hi! I made arrangements at the Navy Lodge. From what I can tell, it's within a mile of graduation. I believe a shuttle is available to and from. My son asked what we were going to do when we came so I need to have a plan for going out and venturing around. It would be nice if the Navy Lodge had a pool so he could relax, but I don't know if they do.

Hi, I see you have been in the scene for awhile? lol. Me, just getting started. I'm doing better than I was 2 weeks ago. Did your son write home from BC telling you how he made a mistake? I know this is the hardest thing he has ever done so it doesn't surprise me of his reaction. I just need to reassure him that not oanyone can be in the Navy and it is hard work. I appreciate any wisdom you can give me.
