Hi NavyMom,
I am on the Smocking and Heirloom sewing discussion you replied to last night. My website name is Chris' Mom, but my real name is Tina and I live in Texas. Welcome to Navy for Moms.

I noticed you joined a group already. Is that the ship your son is an officer on? Where is it based out of?

I guess you've noticed that there are many groups to join on here for discussions. I suggest that one of those you join is a group from your state if there is one. If there isn't, then create one. You can.

I have personally met several people in my state's group at get-togethers we seem to be creating every couple of months lately. We've had fun meeting the people that we've been writing to on the website. Texas is so big that our get-togethers have been regional in nature. Some of us got together last Monday for the Memorial Day Texas Rangers game. We had a wonderful time getting acquainted or getting to know each other better and doing special pre-game ceremony activities to honor our military and fallen heros that Navy for Moms and Navy had organized with the Texas Rangers. My state group has been a fun group to be a part of.

Welcome aboard!!

We are so glad that you are here! This is a great place to meet others that know exactly how you feel!
We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.

Please tell us about your sailor and what they have chosen to do in the navy and ohh yeah we LOVE pictures of everyone !!

Please let me know if you have any questions I can help you with.
