You're welcome- you will find we are not strangers on this site
We have a kindred spirit- We all love a Sailor
I hope you have a wonderful trip and your meet n greet is as fun as mine was- If you have time go to PIR 1/23/09 and read the comments of the group- you might want to go back a few pages to catch up on the comments the moms wrote... click on some profiles... look at some pictures...ask questions if you want...it's fun. I love this site and all the support it offers to moms- before, during, and after boot camp.

Hello again- there is one thing I forgot to mention- the Navy Lodge is nestled in a residential area. I programed the GPS- navigator to the Lodge address. When I turned right off of the main road it told me "I HAD REACHED MY DESTINATION" You are not lost- Just keep traveling down that residential street -pass the NEX gas station on the left and begin looking for the Lodge on the left.
Another thing I want to mention- it may not apply to Jess- but I thought it note worthy.
I read this on Navy4moms and then experienced this first hand- Don't be surprised if your Jess is exhausted, and has somewhat of a flat affect to her personality. They have been training to think and behave the "NAVY" way. My son, Levi wanted a long hot shower, "privacy" and to get squared away for "A" school. We went shopping and purchased his Laptop, backpack, iron, socks, underwear and such. He was VERY serious, I had to pull the smiles and laughter out of him. When we asked him where he wanted to eat- he didn't care... THIS IS NOT LIKE HIM>
I just wanted to prepare you in case Jess doesn't act like her old self.... I have heard it takes them a week or so to come out of "BOOT CAMP" - I just tried to be sensitive to what he wanted to do- gave him lots of praise and encouraging words.
It does get better when you can talk or email them after boot camp. It won't be long now- I know you are smiling and waiting for "the call" The weekend will fly by fast- be strong when you have to say good bye. Your support will strengthen her until you meet again.

I am so happy for you and Jess. My son graduated one week ago today. He is still in Great Lakes for "A" school.
We stayed at the Navy Lodge- not fancy, but very clean. If you have not made reservations- I recommend reserving the room in Jess's name. $65 per night no tax. 1-800-Navy INN
The lodge is right down the street from the drill hall where she will graduate.
We were able to have Levi all weekend... he had to muster by telephone in the mornings and in the evenings.
Enjoy every minute you have with your new sailor-
Don't forget to take lots of pictures- I got home and realized I did not have anyone take a picture of me and Levi...boo hoo.
Stay by your phone next week- you won't want to miss "the call" after she passes battle stations....
Best wishes...
