I wouldn't worry about the discharge "haunting her". She's not "offically" active duty yet and it is likely she will get an entry level medical discharge. Depending on what her DD214 says she may or may not ever be able to reenlist should she change…

Hi! Thanks for your comment! Well I live within 30 minutes from two bases. And there is a local MEPS office as well. I was told by my OBgyn that she would only take tricare standard, which by what I have read and have been told I will have co-pays, deductibles and a few other expenses...so I am hoping I can go with the standard at least until after the baby is born and then I will go with whatever is best! But any feedback from your hubby would be greatly appreciated! :-) Thanks again. Maya

HI, I too am a Navy Wife and a new Navy Mom. My husband has been in close to 16 years, He started as a DT and then was transitioned to a HM. He is stationed at Pheonix MEPS.
4 years to go and counting.......My son left for Great Lakes on 14 July....Navy Mom is much easier than Navy Wife...the toughest job in the Navy!!

Hi & welcome to Navy for Mom's:)) You will find a lot of answers, support and encouragement here. My daughter, Ashley (20), has been in the Navy for 2 years and is an IT3 & my son Tim (19) has been in since Feb 2008 stationed on the USS Nimitz. What is your husband doing with the Navy? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad you joined and look forward to hearing more about you & your Sailor. Pat
