OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi There, thank you for commenting on our caviler, she is 4 and her name is Coco Von. We also have a 5 year old blue wiemaraner named Winston. They are are babies, Our son was very close to both of them so we too send photo of the dogs in cards to him. He really likes getting the cards, it keeps him going. Your daughter will love the photos of her doggie, it will keep her connected so she may not be to homesick. :)

NavyMom2017,

Oh Momma I am so sorry to hear that!!  Does your daughter know you are wheelchair bound??  If she doesn't already have 4 guests attending she could still add your fiance if she knew he was needed to help you.

NavyMom2017,

I am glad you were able to get that all of your chest!!!  I am here anytime you need!!!  I'm sorry you didn't get your daughter's form letter.  Do you plan to attend your daughter's PIR?  The reason I ask is because your daughter will have to put your name on the list of those who will be coming on base for graduation.  Also the form letter has the link to get the base pass.  However, you don't have to drive on base.  If you get a hotel with a shuttle they can drive you right to the front gate.  The drill hall for PIR and the NEX (which many parents and new sailors visit afterwards) is all within walking distance.  (That is if your foot allows you to walk).  But your name does have to be on that list to get through the main gate.  Hope this info is helpful and don't hesitate to contact me if you have any other questions!!!

Hi NavyMom...I'm a bit confused by this site. Do I need to friend each individual person on the PIR Aug. 25th site to communicate with them or just join the site, which I think I did already!? Thanks
