I have no idea what to expect. My son, will be off to BUDS when he is finished with basic....?

Leaving for Bootcamp

My son is leaving in a month and I am already freaking. He does not want us to accompany him to the swearing in...TOO bad....I have taken the day off, and will try to figure it out on my own. Would love to hear anything else anyone has to share abut what to expect, as Colin does not want to share anything..

hi! I'm surprised you remembered my name! you've got such a good memory lol! I talked to matt yesterday, which was so nice! he was telling me how wonderful it is over there! they are treated like humans haha I'm a little upset that he hasn't called me today yet even though he said that he would because he had liberty all day today! Did Collin (that's right, right?) say he went to Chicago with Matt? I know Matt was going to hang out with some people today! I guess Matt was a little upset he didn't get to room with Collin and was only one person away! dang haha but at least he likes his roommate regardless! Are you going to send anything? I'm going to send Matt his laptop, cellphone and civilian clothes lol

Hey there, glad you've arrived safely. Had to laugh at the thought of you trying to scope out RTC. I did the same thing. Got there Weds afternoon, wanted to press my anxious little face against those big black bars and beg them to let me see my son. I told my hubby, but honey, he's just right over there, he's all done and not doing much, I can see the building (ship) he's in, I'm sure of it! LOL -such memories. We high tailed it out of there though before any guards got the idea to come investigate. :)

Friday-and 6:30 a.m.- will come soon enough. Take the time to drive around and get the lay of the land in the meantime. There's a 24 hour all American diner/ train stop nearby that actually has decent food with good portions and pie! Don't forget to buy the Metra all weekend passes ($5 ea.) and avoid the hassles of driving and parking in Chicago this weekend. I'm so proud of you, you have come a long way from that freaked out, depressed and worried new BC mama that landed onsite just weeks ago and I'm sure your amazing new Sailor has too. Enjoy your reunion! :D

Hey girl, glad your there safe , am getting ready to leave just got off work. What a day. By the way heard from Ash's chief last night she wont be marching in the ceremony, he said she wont get back from battlestations until Friday morning and it will be to late and they will be afraid of her falling out during the ceremony,, He may let her sit with us and watch depending on how late she gets back. They were starting battlestations between tonite and tomorrow morning Unbelievable, she must be so upset, I know I am but like chief said its still her graduation she like many others won't be in shape to stand for three hours, they won't allow it.

Happy Halloween: How are you and how is your foot? I am getting so excited. Did you guys have fun last night. Quess what I got a letter from Ashley, she passed her IT OR what ever its called the first time and she said she thought the gas chamber was so cool, she said it was so funny to watch everybody, she says it was easy ( but she also said she must be crazy) but they are getting so excited. I can't wait to get there and I bet you are going crazy also. Call this week when you get a chance.
