She'll be sent to ship 6 to heal in the RCU/FIT divisions if the x-ray turns up something. From there the docs will put her into the correct path to heal up and allow her to continue her training.

from experience your sailor will not get separated unless it's something that will affect her for the rest of her life, like if she had torn a tendon or something. she'll be put on hold and go through physical therapy untill the navy decides she's...

My son has a stress fracture. He is in the FIt division, and recently went from shin splints to a stress F, while he was trying to pass his running.. What happenned to your sailor? Did he/she heal and go on to graduate?
Hi Norma. How's Laura doing? I hope things are better. By now I figure you have more info about her. Please let me know how it's going. I'm still praying for her. Judi
Hi Norma, welcome to ship 17 moms. We have a lot of info posted at the top of the page there that may be helpful to you. let me know if you can't find info you need. i see your sailor has been injured. Tell her to drink plenty of milk and eat lots of dairy products, it helps with healing the stress fractures. Tell her to take care of it, elevate when she can,, ice it, whatever her instructions are.
Hi Norma--I seen your post over in the Fit group. My son just got home a couple of weeks ago. He injured his leg during the last week of boot camp and was sent to ship 06 where he spent about 5 weeks. They really work with them there to heal and get them back on track. Unfortunatly for my son his injury was determined to take too long to heal and he opted for a discharge where he can go back after 12 months. It was an up and down rollercoaster ride that I'm glad is now over. Just try and take care of yourself and not let the worry overwhelm you (I know easier said than done). She should be able to at least call once a week while in ship 6 with a progress report. I know that the time my son spent there he had nothing but good things to say about ship 6 and the people there. Well let me know if there's anything I can help you with. Just remember to not worry too much, she has alot of people there that care about her finishing. Take care! Janet
Take one day at a time. I hope it all works out, but at least shin splints are not life threatening. Give it time to heal. I'll pray for her. Let me know how things are going. It will all work out. Judi
