About me:
I'm a mom of 3. I've got an almost 25 yr old daughter who will be going off to law school, then I have the twins (boy and a girl who are 18 and graudated high school June 2008). My son decided to join the Navy on the DEP program the weekend after he turned 18 rather than going to college (sad face). His twin sister, my youngest daughter is a freshman at UCSD.

Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Everyday I learn something new! My son left for boot camp, Feb 4th, 2009 and is currently in Nuke School in Goose Creek, SC.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

okay, so my bf told me that they will be allowed to leave Dec. 18 (after school if they want) until Jan. 2. So they can leave anytime between those dates i guess? Double check with your son of course=)

Hi Rosemary, sorry for taking so long to reply. I have not asked him about it yet, I will though. My boyfriend did mention a while ago that they can take 10 days of leave. Not sure on dates though. He said he will be only coming out for a week unfortunately since it is so close to power school grad...
I still can't believe he is in power school already! time sure flies..
Have you and your husband decided on Columbus Day weekend?

I'm not going to the graduation on July 17th..are you? I wish I could be there but my boyfriend's flight to come home is that day so there would be no point. I can see you have your countdown clock going =)
I do too haha. I am extremely excited and can't wait to see him when I pick him up at the airport! I just can't believe A-school is almost over for them. Anyway, hope all is well with you and your son. take care.

Casey didn't say much about Charleston. He's not much of a talker lately. All I've been getting is monosyllable answers to my questions. He won't tell me the names of the guys he hangs out with because he doesn't want me to talk about them on N4Ms. I'm getting signals that I need to back off a little and give him some space.
