Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
at first i feared the worst, but since my sailor joined 2/08 he
has become a strong and independent man. when he comes
home i see the change in him.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Thanks for adding me as a friend, I hope we will be able to provide support and answers for each other. My sailor is an MA and is stationed 5875 miles away on land. It is a nice place and his next duty station sounds like it will be a nice place as well. I can't remember, did I mention to you about changing your user name so that it does not include your last name, espeically if it is the same as your sailor's? This helps to keep everyone safer. Blessings to you and yours.

Pat, In the picture with the Blue gun..They are pratices..VBSS (Is Vist Board Search & Seize) They go aboard ships..Sometimes looking for Pirates..So They where pratice boards,,Keeping sharp..Looking around every corner. In case some one has a gun..They also make sure the ships have proper paer work..Its alot..The guns are the same weight as a real one..But they are pratice guns..When they board they carry real ones...So thats what they where doing in the picture...As for the other ones..They where on a pier not a ship...They where having beer on the pier...Kinda like a cook out..ya know...see ya..

Hi Pat,

Thank you for your kind words, but it was not my son that was injured., I just posted Denise Holland's comments on the Norfolk page.

Hello Pat,
Welcome aboard, this is a great site for all of us and our many questions. Do not be too hard on Shane nor or yourself. Considering your sailor's age, and the incredible changes that our boys go through... it is a big adjustment for everybody, he will come around after a while.
