Mine is a Nuke MM2 on a sub. I have known since he was in the third grade he would go military, and when the time came he made all the decisions and I met his recruiter the day he was picked up for MEPS. He has been in the fleet for 1.5 years, but has not been to sea (drydock).

Self
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Retired from the Navy
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
By far the best service for self growth, leadership, discipline, protracted challenge, and technical opportunity. Learn to take the "Message to Garcia"... learn to think on your own, juggle hard decisions - and make them. gain leadership experience at a very young age. Learn a good work ethic. Learn teamwork, sacrifice, protecting, service, altruism. ...and, have alot of fun doing a tough job...
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
