Matt is better at the hands on learning too. He excelled at labs and clinicals at A school. So far he has done well on the tests at FMTB but he said this next one is the one most people struggle with so he was studying today for Monday. Do you know what platoon he is assigned to? Matt is in 1st platoon. We are going to drive down, its about a 11 hour drive for us. Graduation is just after my and my daughters birhtday so we are going to make a fun trip of it.

Hi Penny,
I do plan to go to graduation. I havent missed one yet. It would be great to meet you. Is your son liking FMTB ? Matt seems to be for the most part I think.

Penny, I apologize for the late response. In reference to your son's referral regognition awards. The DEP coordinator for the Navy Recruting District that services your area is required to keep a file of the previous two years DEP awards. If your son's recruiter did his job and submitted the paperwork to the NRD to give your son credit, they will have a copy of it on file. If they did not submit the paperwork then you will run into he said/she said with the recruiter who will now have to explain why it wasn't submitted. At that point you may have to contact your representative if you feel the need to do so. It is true that your son's peronal information is covered by the Privacy Act of 1975. He will have to do most of the talking which he can probably do during his lunch hour.

Hey Penny, Hailey also had two tests in one week. As they get near the end, it seems like it moves a bit quicker. If I remember correctly, they get grades for clinicals and labs which directly follow after the tests. I think that she moved right through those. The tests are the hardest part from what she said. Mike will not have much longer before he will be where Hailey is now. She just graduated Dec 11th. She seems to really love her new job. The 12 hour shifts are kind of hard, she says she is so tired by the end of the day, but then she gets more time off than working it seems. So that doesn't seem that bad. Well today, I am off to visit her. My Mom, son and myself and leaving today until next Tuesday with a brief visit. My cup runneth over with joy!!!! Dad has got to work and take care of the other teenager. Have a great weekend and I will talk with you later. Tell David to hang in there, the best is yet to come.

That would be great about the Alabama Moms getting together. I would love to meet everyone, its so nice to have someone to talk to when I need it that really understands. I am glad to hear that they are getting a reinspection on their room. The first few weeks were the toughest for Hailey, then it seemed to get a bit easier. Keep in touch and please let me know about the meeting.

Hi Penny, I happened to see your note about the messy person in your son's room. My daughter had the same problem and there were four of them in her room. The three of them went to their chief and complained and he told them that they had to assign duties to each individual in the room. That worked for them, because when one area was not done, that one individual was tagged and not the entire room. It was really rough on my Hailey. She is now out of A school and is a Corpsman in Virginia. I pray that problem will resolve for your son. I am also from Alabama, that is what caught my eye. What is your son in school for? Talk to you later, Chandra

Hi Penny,
Thank you so much for the friend invite. It's great to have someone from Sweet Home Alabama.. Jordan loved A-School, more freedom. He loved Chicago, even in the snow!! It was nice he was able to have cell phone so we were able to talk. Jodan graduated Corps school 04/07 and I went back up GL for grad. Not a large number as in boot camp. They take the medical oath. It was still cold in April!!

I live in Birmingham..where exactly is Trinity? I would love to talk to you. I wished this network was up when I went through the begining..
Take Care,
Cindy

Penny,
Thank You ! My prayers go out to your and your son and your family because we know as Navy mom's what it truly feels like when our son's are away. But those short phone calls make it a whole lot better.

Kyle is in div 416. I know we worry about everything don't we? I really don't know why he got to call. They did have a competition today and his division came in 3rd. Maybe that is why. He was really down at first but then he started to sound better. Me and husband could barely hear him. I know I missed half of what he said. :( I think they are all really busy right now. Just think you will be hearing from him definitely Monday afternoon sometime!!!
