Yeah I also have some pics of Daniel and Reiko but thought I'd better not put them in his scrapbook. I really like her I wish they would get back together. But I don't think that is going to happen. She is a really sweet girl. She usually emails m...

About me:
I married and I have the most wonderful son Daniel serving on the USS McCampbell. We just moved to Kentucky last Christmas after living in SA, Texas for 15 years. I like the weather there much better the winters here are a little ruff. We work with race horses so Ky is the hot spot for that.
I am here to support or represent my:
Daniel
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted, Overseas
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Everyday is a learning experience for me. Not growing up with much military background in my family I had so much to learn and I think I learn more each time I talk to Daniel although I know there is so much more to learn.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

ok thanks. I wish he could come home. He was supose to come home in Dec. but now not till next year but don't know when next year. I guess 3 people from his shop r leaving at the end of the year and they r now sending him to those 3 schools to learn those jobs and i guess he will be doing all 4. Sounds like alot to me but I guess they think he can handle it. By Dec. it will be 2 years. I may have to go there to get to see him at this rate. lol Thanks

Hi Navy Mom...thanks for your reply. Make sure you check around other sites before buying an airline ticket. www.MilitaryToGo.com will show you if there are any military fares available on the flight back from Japan. I know they can be expensive at times. I can't imagine it has been two years! Wow! I would suggest starting to look around Oct 1st and keep checking back through the 15th of Oct. Then, check one more time on the following Tuesday...this is when the airlines update their fare matrix and many times the fares will go down. It has been my experience that once a military fare is set it normally won't change; even the day before the flight. However, I would suggest buying sooner than later. Good luck and please let me know if you need any assistance.

Hello PNM,
Sounds like your son is doing very well! Our son, Obadiah, is a musician. He plays guitar, and a little piano, violin, and mandolin. He sings with such passion, it always brought tears to my eyes. When he was in A school, they had a talent contest for fun, and he won. I miss hearing him play guitar and sing around the house.

What a wonderful family history you have with the horses. I absolutely love horses and love being with mine every day. It's been hot and super humid here in Florida, so it's not a good time to ride. Looking forward to the cooler weather!
Have a great day!

Hello Mom of Daniel,
That was another wise post you put in the Yokosuka group. It's so true, that when we give them the space they need, they usually come around and share more. I've experienced that with our son, Obadiah. He is very intelligent and very independent. He just called me this morning from the ship. It was great to hear from him, as he hasn't had time to email this week, because he's been busy and it's tough to get time on the computer.

You have a very nice page! Do you enjoy working with the race horses? What do you do with them? Training? We have 3 horses and just love them. I've immersed myself in studying the gentle techniques when working with horses. I'm constantly educating myself on anything with horses. We've been horse owners for about 4 years, and several years ago, both of our daughters each had a horse of their own. Now the kids are all grown, and John and I enjoy being with the horses. We joke that they are our new kids! Some of my favorite horseman are Buck Brannamon, Tom and Bill Dorrance, Dennis Reis, and Chris Cox. Cherry Hill and Leslie Desmond are also excellent horsewomen.

I would love to hear about your horse experiences!

Aret has only been there since March 5th of this year so everything that is going on is so new to all of us. It is very difficult for all of us to get us to the fact but she tells me she is having the time of her life.
