Not sure about travel plans either. Hubby wants to drive it. It will be a long drive from SC, but we could see the country, and that is alright with me. Never been there before. We're thinking of renting a vehicle here to keep miles off ours. My mother has flown many times and she said if we flew we would have to rent a car there. I dont know if they would have a shuttle. If you rent a car, then you could get to PIR as early as you wanted. Thats what keeps going through my mind. Getting there early!!

Queen V, I feel a little better now. This morning I re-read the "official Do's and Don'ts letter". I had a # to call if there were any questions. I was told to send his letters to the address on the letters he sends to us. Not the one in the letter the Navy sent out. I was also told he would get all the letters that has been sent to the other address. This makes me feel much better. I didn't have to give a name or anything that would let them know who my son is. I say this only because I was afraid it would be hard on him if I called. Joy

I am new to this, but I wanted to say my son is in div 063 and I recieved my second letter today. In this letter he said it was his 8th day in GL. He said he was having a tough time, and even doubted he could graduate. Now that he is in his third week, I really hope his next letter is more upbeat. We write him everyday, but his letters seem to indicate he hasn't gotten our letters. We are hoping by now he has gotten them. I got the letter that has the "do's and don'ts" in it and his address but the letters he sends to us has a different address on it. Any idea which I should be sending to?

I know it is so nice to know i am not the only mom sitting at home wondering if they got turkey for thanksgiving if they are ok.. it was my very first thanksgiving with out him i have one blessing his girlfriend has become a huge part of our family so i am blessed that she still comes over and we cry and miss him together my husband is overwhelmed he has me (mom) kasie (girlfriend) and jamie (little sister) all sad today because we didn't get a letter i was actually mad at the mail man.. can you believe that.. ha ha...

I got a letter last Friday but nothing else since. How about you? I am curious how the RDC's in our sons div are. They seem strictor then others. Do you get that impression? I'm wondering how their Thanksgiving went. Let me know if you find out anything. Nice to meet another mom from div 063.

i just went to groups and found the one that said PIR 01/09/09 and joined it doesn't seem like there are alot of moms i hope to meet more.. how is jared doing have you heard from him do you think they will get to call for christmas

Yes Justin is div 63 he sounds like he likes it but i still can't get use to him not being hear i just can't wait to see him.....

So what happened with the SS card, was it because he did not have his with him at bootcamp that he was asmod, or was it because he hasn't ever had one? Didn't his recruiter require one (and copy it) while he was in the dep program? Could you please let me know asap, Steve lost his wallet and is due to ship out Wednesday.
