About me:
My daughter is a LCDR currently stationed at Norfolk attached to the TR (America's Big Stick). She was recruited right out of college (Indiana University) and packed off to Pensacola OCS. That was over eight years ago. First station was in Maryland (first grandson born at Andrews Airforce Base), next Rota, Spain (granddaughter came along), and then back to Monterey, CA (youngest grandson made his appearance) to NPS for a Masters in Oceanography and Meteorology. Now we are enjoying the beaches of the East Coast. My son-in-law and three grandchildren are at home in Virginia Beach awaiting Mommy's return from deployment.
I am here to support or represent my:

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Officer
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
The awesome opportunities that have been offered to my child and her family.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

How exciting. How can you stand waiting another day. Have fun with her daughter and tell her how proud all us Moms are. We can all share in the pride for our Navy Kids. Yes, Erin loves what she is doing as well. It's hard but she loves it.

Yes, we are blessed to have such great kids!! Thanks, and your daughter and grandson are both beautiful. I'm looking forward to the day when I'll be a grandmother though it may be a few more years. Wow, I've never heard of the National Ice Center in Suitland, MD! Can you tell me about it and what they do there? Sounds interesting! Gosh, did they live in a great town if they were in Annapolis. I LOVE the quaintness of Annapolis and I think the yard (USNA) is gorgeous. Lucky you for the great air fare prices, back in the day. Did you visit them in Europe? How was Spain? TTYL, have a great day also, Sherry

Welcome to N4Ms! Highland is about 45 minutes from E.Lansing. We live about 6 miles east of US-23 of M-59. Do you know where that is? Thank you for your comments about my son and congrats to you daughter LCMD!

Welcome to N4M. Congratulations on your daughter's tremendous accomplishment as an officer! I'm sure you're proud of her and her family. BTW, my daughter PJ is an Ensign also stationed in Norfolk. Sherry

Welcome Rebecca, congratulations on your daughter's accomplishments. You can be very proud. My daughter is currently in jet flight school in Kingsville, TX. She was commissioned in 2007 when she graduated from Virginia Tech. Welcome aboard. Try and go back and see some of the very earlier posts. It gives a lot of answers to your questions plus you can answer some for us. Your daughter must have an awesome husband to support her career.
