I am sooo excited we r going to Indiana to spend christmas with hubbys family!!!! I am hoping that we can get home and not get snowed in!!!!! LOL But if we do then I am going to get out there with my kids and have fun in the snow. We dont get to much snow here anymore and my kids hardly ever get a chance to play in it. I know they arre all teens but if it does snow I am going to make them get out there with me and play!!!!!!! LOL

I signed my hubby up for this site this morning and it looks like it would be alot of help for all teh dads out there in cyberland....LOL I want to encourage everyone to have all the navy dads they know to join this wonderful site. They only have like 316 members after my hubby joined and they dont have as many groups, so if its going to be as successful as our group they will need more people.

Hi, Rebecca. Just saw you are driving from TN. We are driving up from Nashville. So nice to see another Tennessean on here for PIR 9/11/09. Will you make the Meet and Greet at Flannigan's? - Brenda

Rebecca, I am glad to hear all went well.Good luck on your next stage of the journey. Are you going to go to his PIR?
I still have two weeks and three days. I am trying to stay positive, but it is hard.

Hi Rebecca, I got Josh's division from his recruiter today. It is 315. My box of Josh's stuff came Fedex today too. The delivery guy said "God bless your son." & told me he had been in the Air Force & he said in boot camp they are "very busy" and he said, "Don't worry, Mom. No news is good news."

Hi Rebecca!

My son, Shelton, was also in DEPS during his Senior year. He left on the 7th and I received "the box" on the 10th and my FIRST letter yesterday!! He sounded so upbeat and positive which really made me feel great. Yes, leaving the recruiting office was hard for me as well. I posted a photo album on my site "Bye Bye Baby" and you can see me getting in that one last hug!

It does get easier even though my heart still aches for him. I can't wait to see him in PIR on 08/28. He is in Div 298 Ship 12. He will be in Pcola for A school which is only four hours from home!

You will love all the great advice that you receive on this site! Everyone is so helpful and we all understand how each of us is feeling....we have all been there.

Take care!

Hi Rebecca! I dropped my son off with the recruiter on the 14th too. However, he didn't arrive in GL until today. The family, my son's girlfriend and I were able to spend time with him yesterday in San Diego. I also talked to him a little on the phone today while he was at the airport waiting for the bus. Like you we texted until we couldn't text anymore.

I cried a lot after my son enlisted, and now that he has 9 weeks, I find that my heart is pounding. I love the support from the DEPPER group. The moms understand. They are going through the same feelings.
When I first joined, I would go on and just read. Every now and then I would comment. The closer my son's ship date comes, the more I find myself on the site. Read the discussion groups. There is some really good advise!
Good luck and don't be affraid to ask.

hey there, sorry its taken me so long to get back to you. things have been crazy for me lately but anyway , wasn't the book good! when i was about 17 me and a couple of friends went to the pine's well after a bit to drink we decided we were brave and went exploring. we were lost in the dark for about 2 hours or so ( no such thing as cell phones then)we were found by some really strange guy who walked us back to our car but the only thing he said the whole time was "your lost lets go"never said another word not even goodbye. to look back now we were lucky times were different then
