Hi Everyone, My son is in Pensacola in Carl Vinson barracks. Does anyone else have a son there? It sounds like he will be on hold for a while before his AT classes start. He does seem really happy there at least.

For those moms who went through BC together, to continue to share stories, support, and prayer through A School and beyond.
My son just informed me that he was planning to get a tattoo this weekend. Needless to say, I'm not enthusiastic. I'm pretty conservative about body art. He told me that it will be on his ribs. Yuck! Sorry, I just needed to vent.

How are you? hopefully you are still monitoring this site...have you heard from Bill? Jon called me last night to say he'd gotten 'verbal orders' for his post (he's going in Oct????). I'm not happy, but he is and that counts. He's told it's a good post, but I'm not sure! I'm not sure I'm supposed to say where it is here, can I?

- Hey there mama!!! haven't heard from ya in a while... hope all is going well and you had a nice Easter. I enjoyed my Spring break... but we go back to school tomorrow... and I'm as BAD as my kids..... now I'm counting the day till SUMMER break... which is 33 days... hahaha!!!! I should start a clicker counter like I had on my page for when we counted the days, hours, minutes and seconds till PIR.... Anyway.... just curious how things are and how Bill is doing.... - Josh was in Div 122.... but he has someone in his room from 120... I'm just so happy for him... tatto or no tattoo.. hahaha.... It's definitely a Navy thing.... just thought it would take him longer to get it, not his 2nd week at A School! Josh doesn't mind that A School is delayed right now... I think he's looking at it as a little break and enjoying the time before he has to study real hard. He's got a good head on his shoulders and trys to take life one day at a time and let things happen as they happen.... which I am truly grateful for him having such a GREAT attitude with everything. Just like BC... he said he LOVED it... except for the first two weeks... that was just such an adjustment... then when I asked him about BStations... and he said... Mom it was actually pretty fun..... I said... did you Worry about BS before you took it... and he was like... "MOM, Why worry.... either you PASS or FAIL.... and they taught us everything we needed to know.... so basically there was NOTHING to worry about.... the more you worry... the more you 2nd guess yourself, and the more you 2nd guess yourself.. the more likely you are to make mistakes"....... I was speechless ;o) I am just to thankful that he made this choice, and I'm so PROUD to say that I am a NAVY MOM!!!! :o)

I just saw your comment about the tattoo... my son just got one last Friday.... he got his last name across his back shoulder blade to shoulder blade.... he couldn't start out with anything SMALL... had to to BIG...LOL good grief... he did send a picture, and I actually like it... so I can't complain. Did he actually go through with it? What did he end up getting? Jules

Just got off the phone with Jon...he, Bill and the others are at O'Hare now headed to Atlanta and then on to Pensacola. I guess they do know eachother. They all have plans to go golfing this weekend..sounds like a great life, eh? Thanks for the info on the photos as Jon didn't have time to get back over there on Monday to send mine along. I'll call them later and arrange it.

It was nice to meet you and Bill's grandparents at Flanagan's. Sorry we didn't get a chance to get together later in the weekend. What did you end up doing? did you go to Chicago? We ended up going out locally, going to the movies (he just had to see Watchmen), riding up to Kenosha WI and strolling along the lake etc. He really just wanted to take it easy. He went into Chicago on Sunday with some buddies. He told me that they were all leaving today for Pensacola, so it sounds like they might already be on their way. He sent me his pix (his debit card wasn't working but we got it straightened out while I was there) so I haven't seen them yet. Glad to have some contact info in case I want to see other poses. Wasn't it just a wonderful ceremony and weekend? I have lots of pictures--I've got to figure out how to post them now.

- This is just getting worse and worse as the day goes on...it's almost cruel if you know what I mean. I just spoke to my friend Bill, ex-Navy, and he thinks I've gone around the bend too. Loony bin, here I come! I don't know why it is getting to me this much, but it certainly is! I just hope the guys are doing OK and not as stressed as we are!
