Welcome to N4M, my son base now in SD, and he is on deployment right now on USS John Stennis but will be coming home soon, probably your daughter will depart a little before he head home.

For a young couple just starting out, it is better to live in base housing. Than they know the rent is paid and they will have a place to live. I have seen, many, many times where a yong couple move out in town and one of the spouses blow the rent...
yes it is!
butt its better to live off base so u can keep some of the bah.
