my husband was stationed at Sig for 2 years. Hardest time of my life. I didn't get to go over there with him but just to visit. It is beautiful and he got to experience so many things that may have not happened if he wasn't in the Navy. My husband is now aboard a naval ship that just deployed for 6 months. This will be our shortest time apart but it never gets easier. I have seen my husband about 2 years out of the last 5 1/2 years. That has even been spread out. I am so proud of him though and support him in his career. I will be so happy for shore duty in 2010. Good luck to you and yours, have any questions don't hesitate.

Hi Robin,
I joined N4M when my son recently graduated from Great Lakes. He is now attending A school in Meridian, Mississippi. Yes, if you are ever in the area, I would really like to get together with other moms. Take care and hope to talk to you soon.

Hi Robin.....

I would like to stay informed if there are any upcoming bbq's or events in So Cal. My son finished basic on Nov 7th and is in Biloxi now for A school.

It would be really nice to spend time with other people that miss their sailors too!

Hope to hear from you....

Jacquie

PS....By the way....I'm in Whittier.

About me:
I live in SoCA and am married to my childhood sweetie. Between us we have 8 adults (I have 4 boys, he 2 and 2) and 3 grandchildren and one on the way. One of the 8 is a USN Sailor stationed at NAS Sigonella, Sicily, Italy. He loves the Navy and we are happy he is happy. We also have another son interested in enlisting but he has some weight to lose. It's been a struggle for him. We have 2 sons that serve as police officers, We are so proud of all our kids.

I am here to support or represent my:

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
It's ok to cry but remember, the Navy takes care of them. They have a roof over their heads and food in their belly. They are growing up and we have to let them.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
