About me:
I am the mother of 3, 2 boys and a girl, it's my girl that joined the Navy. I have mixed feelings and this is all so new to me...As her ship date draws near I realize that she is happy with her choices and that's what I want for my daughter...therefore I too am happy. It will be tough not having her in my life daily but she will always be there in my heart.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
She is making a selfless choice with her life and is happy...I too need to be.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Ronda: Glad you saw the pictures. Yes I will keep in touch. My brother in law was out of Norfolk (recently retired - after 25 plus years as Captain of a nuc. sub) he was always happy there and they continue to live in Virginia Beach. It is a nice area. take care. Renee

Hi, Ronda - My husbands page is under Joe Jr. He said it may be easier to go to Pensacola A school group and find our picture (same as mine the three of us from the swearing in ceremony) and find the pictures that way. They are still on the Navy for dads home page on the bottom; but they start around picture 25. Good Luck and take care. Joe, III is anxious for his C-school to start; he just wants to get things going as I am sure Nicole is also. Talk to you soon. Renee

Its a beautiful ship. I hope she gets to see it before hand. Maine was very pretty. I am looking forward to hopefully visiting Tim while he is up there, even if it has to be in the snow...lol.

October 25, 2009 _ Ronda: I did get your comment - sorry I didn't get to you sooner, work is crazy busy now. Anyway yes we did go to graduation. If you go to the Navydads website you can see graduation pictures on their home page at the bottome posted by my husband Joe. I need to get them here also but I am not good at that. You will see Nicole for sure. It was very nice. Joe is sad that she is leaving because she was the only left from boot samp that was still at Pensacola. He has c-school in Pensacola and then will go to Ft. Meade Maryland to be direct support for subs. He is happy with this and we have family there. Take care and keep in touch. Don't forget to check out the pictures. Renee

Ronda: Congratulations to your daughter and her assignment on the Jason Dunham. I've heard good things about that ship. Have you joined the destroyer group yet? My friend SueS has a great CT group you might consider joining also. Feel free to ask if you ever have a question or need help! :)

Ronda: Well our kids started their classes last night. Weird that they go to class at night. Joe called today AFTER he woke up aroung 11:00 their time. Said the first night was long and boring - they actually have a sub the first week, that doesn't help. Hopefully after their real teacher comes back things will get better. I am glad they classed up - but concerned about where they go next. Guess I shouldn't worry yet. Take care. Renee

Ronda: Glad to hear your daughter is getting her car. Joe found out yesterday that he is starting classes Tuesday! Seems really quick to me. I am glad for him but also concerned because after school he will get shipped out somewhere else - possibly far away. But I guess that is something we will have to learn to deal with. I know Joe appreciates Nicole's friendship since they are in the same battalion. He says the nick-name for their base is Corry High; I guess because it is like high school again. After next week they will be in Phrase 3 and can stay out all week-end. Somehow I do NOT find that comforting. Just being a mom I guess. Glad to hear from you - hope you have a nice 4th of July week-end - keep in touch. Renee

Ronda: Well we are home - got home Monday evening - what a busy trip. Joe had a huge shopping list. Plus all the stuff I brought from home but we managed to get everything in his very tiny room on saturday only to have to move everything Sunday because half of their building had no air conditioning. And to think I was going to have a nice quiet visit with my son. Anyway he got moved to a much nicer building with good AC! I also had the pleasure of teaching my son how to do laundry. Unfortunately I never met your daughter. We think we saw her one day but she was in her civilian clothes and Joe wasn't sure until it was too late. They were all over the place enjoying their first bit of freedom. We are planning on taking his car up to him in two weeks. I hope to meet her then! Joe badged up - he was so excited! I am really enjoying him having his cell phone. Hope you are well and are able to speak to your daughter regularly. Renee
