Thank you ladies. I'm not GLAD we are all having so much stress, but it is a little comforting to know that I am not the only one. I used to spend more time on N4M and it seemed like all the moms were just sitting around pining over their kids. Ho...

Alz... I know exactly how you feel! I have been, let's say, not so easy to be around lately. I've been horribly busy and stressed at my job also... I even just walked out of work on Tuesday, in the middle of the day! Luckily, I have a management p...

Remembered to ask and my son knows Matt. I tried to describe who he was, and my son says, "Oh, you mean Matt. He's the only guy here who calls me by my first name." He also mentioned how much he liked him! Tried to describe Al from picture, but th...

Oh, I'm so exhausted from feeling stressed. I was so excited when I made the reservations, but I didn't know how hard it was going to leave my 14 month old daughter. Plus, after I made plans, I found out my older daughter had to be a couple places...

My fellow Div 19 moms, please bear with me. I need a safe place to share some feelings. My life is so busy, this next week is speeding towards me and I'm not at all prepared the way I wanted to be. Work has taken 110% of my energy, and yet I have ...

Here in Ohio we've been pretty lucky so far with the weather it's been around 60 most days... weird for us. 6 hr drive for us, which isn't bad. They say that Chicago wind cuts right through ya... burrr. I wanted to get the red carpet in, which is...

Been below zero here already this winter and the wind is howling tonight, so I'm not sure what to expect of the "Chicago cold". Will I find it cold or a pleasant change? I felt bad about the gas chamber when I heard the recruits upchuck and wonder...

I hear you guys... I'm so anxious to see my kid! I can't wait to hear how the gas chamber went, that's been my biggest fear the whole time. Matt says the time has gone quick, not for me. I'm looking forward to meeting you guys too... 13 days, 14 h...

Josh hasn't gone to sea yet, he was assigned to his sub and it went into dry dock the month he went to Portsmouth. He has all of his quals done except for the ones that he has to do at sea, so he is pretty excited and has been trying to get out on another sub. He got promoted to third class petty officer because he was the top student at all three of his schools while at Groton. Not too shabby for a kid who got into the Navy on a GED!! My son has finally found his calling and he loves it. I couldn't be more proud of him or happier for him. Tell your son to keep his mind on his studies and he will do fine. Josh spent every weekend there on base and worked really hard to get this promotion. He sets goals for himself and so far and done very well at accomplishing them. If there is anything I can help you with please feel free to ask. I am in contact with my son pretty much every weekend when he calls me and can ask him any thing for you if need be. Is his PIR in Dec.?.....Kathie

Thank you for the nice comment. Josh is actual a twin and his brother is active duty Air Force and is flight crew so we have one in the sky and one under the sea. Josh is stationed in Portsmouth, Va. right now while his sub is in dry dock. What will your son be doing on the sub do you know yet? Mine really enjoyed sub school.

Welcome to Navy for Moms, my son is currently on deployment and will be back sometime in December and hopefully home for Christmas. Hope you can make graduation, it is quite an experience. My friend's son graduated last year on Christmas eve and they drove to Great Lakes in the middle of one of the worst storms from Howland. Her son is in Guam now. Best of Luck to you and you Sailor. I know you are proud of him. I know I am of my son. They look soo handsome in their uniforms and if you are like me you will cry your eyes off the first time you see him

Hi Ruth Ann, Thanks for the friend request. It will be nice having someone near by who also has a son in the Navy. I see that he is still in boot camp. How are you doing with that? Are you going to graduation? My son graduated in October of 06 and it was one of the most awesome experiences of my life. Still get goose bumps thinking of it.
I'd love to get together with you sometime. Let me know if that sounds good to you too, and we can make some plans.
