The other problem out here is the fact that I dont have a degree. I am in process of it, but that doesnt matter, even when I have experience in the jobs that I am applying for. But, good news is that the military approved funds for wives to get training in certain careers and knowing that we will move every few years or so; I signed up for medical transcription training. I am putting my business degree on hold until this schooling is done (its a year program), but after that, I will continue until my business degree is completed. :)

Hey there! We are living off base. There is a 6 to 12 month wait to get into housing so when we moved here, we had to be off base; but, in October i will be going back down to the housing office to see if we can get housing for April of next year. Keep your fingers crossed.
Now what is Danny's job in the Navy? If he gets Virginia Beach area, you know he always has a place to visit.
You will definitely be a pro soon. The good thing is, with Danny being in the Navy, your youngest (i always forget his name....sorry) knows what to expect and can get pointers from his brother. Good job Ruthann! You are a very strong mother. :)

Hey there sweetie. how have you been? How was P-cola? Did you ever find out where danny was getting stationed? How about your other son, is he all sworn in and a date set for BC? If you need anyone to talk to or any support when your youngest is at BC, please know that I am here for you still.
We are loving Virginia! My only complaint is the job market, it is very hard to get a good paying job when you dont have a degree, and the DOD takes forever to go through resumes. I did get a store manager position but the pay stinks and I make enough to pay daycare. But other then that, I love it!

Hey did you get your yearbook for PIR 12/5? Seems like it is late in coming.

Ruthann,
I posted a comment for you Saturday on the Cheetah group that I had received our DVD on Saturday. So hopefully you should be getting yours soon. It came UPS. Your son was easy to pick out since he was an RPOC. Am I correct? They introduce him by name. You will love it. Hang in there it is on it's way.

Ruthann,
I noticed someone post on the Cheetahs site yesterday that they received their PIR DVD yesterday (Saturday) in the mail. I didn't get mine yet either and I too am anxious for it. We were there, but because we sat in the honor grad section, believe it or not there were parts we missed. Like for instance we were not sitting right in front of Jillian division so I really didn't get to see exactly where she was in the marching lineup (even though I knew from her drawings in her letters). I wouldn't trade where we sat for the world, but I do believe that no matter where you sat, there were some parts of the ceremony you couldn't see perfectly because it was a long, narrow hall. We were lucky enough to be seated in the middle but since Jill division was 024 (one of the 1st 3, her division was all the way to the left of us. Anyway, I'm hoping we both get ours on Monday. Yesterday would have been nice though because we would have had all weekend to watch it. Now I'll probably have to wait until Tuesday because I have plans for tomorrow nite. Boogers!

Oh Ruthann that is so sad about your friend. I am sorry you lost such a sweet and rare friend. And how sweet of Danny to remember her in such a profound way. Danny sounds like the kind of guy I would love my daughter to find! Yes, New Hope is a fun place - lots of very cool artsy shops. I haven't been there is years. Hummm, maybe a little field trip is in order once the winter breaks.

Hi Ruthann,
I googled Southampton because I wasn't quite sure exactly where it was and found out that I am probably about 1 to 1.5 hours away from there. Does your friend still live there? If so and you ever go visit her, DEFINITELY let me know and we can try to get together. Southampton is in Bucks county which is a nice area and getting quite pricey to live in.
