I don't know when the Bush will have their family day - hopefully we won't have to wait too long. My friend's son's was over Labor Day I believe. She said that she will remember it for the rest of her life - nothing but wonderful things to say about it. Jan

Hey Stacey,

If you're interested a local N4M go to groups and do a search for your state, join and ask the group who's in your area. Hope this helps you. Sherry

Welcome to Navy 4 Moms, this is an exciting website and very informative... We would like to invite you to the Blue Candle Lighting event that occurs in your home anytime you wish to light a candle for your recruit sailor or the military in general. This is done to honor their service during the holidays, birthdays, special events or if you just want to. The Home for the Holidays/Blue Candle Moms also ask you join us in this group. This event and group has no special connections to "any one group" We are all Navy Moms, Wives, and we became Blue Candle Moms.... this included everyone on this website. Please come join us and share your stories and your lightings and your holidays with your child...this was done because some moms were not having their sailors home, and we are support group that can share feelings and fears. Annouce your child is coming home or the despair of knowing on certain holidays it is your sailor we light the candles for. To honor them for the service in the past present and future. To honor those that gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for our freedom. We celebrate the freedom to be Blue Candle Moms and the freedom to light our candles anytime we choose. Please think about our group and the Event and when responding tell where you lit your candle, and the reasons for your paticular lighting. the event will continue and once you rsvp come in anytime and update your lightings

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Needed to learn more about it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
They do come home again!!!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
This was the best decision he/she could have made

About my life ...

Well after reading Donna's (PD is her Sailor) I thought I should try to get this out of my head and here it goes......

I married my high school sweetheart we had 1 really great son Coy (Jake) he as everyones child makes your world go around. Since I was 14 now 41 I have had 35 surgeries on the belly hip to hip, chest to waist etc. I had lots of female problems ovarian cyst etc. So when Jake grew up and they do he decided in his senior year he wanted to be a Nuke you know those recruitors that come to the school, well one did and needless to say they got him my only child...Is that what all moms think? Well he went to boot camp on Sept 11, 2006 1 day after his 18 Birthday and oh boy that was so hard my baby leaving to do something so wounderful but, so damn scarey, lol atleast for me it was scarey.

I got lots and lots of letters they were so great to read even through my tears....The BOX was awful it was like the only remains left the smell of my son and the last outfit I got to see him in they should not send the BOX....

Then the First phone call OMG I was so excited all he had to do is hear him breath it was a priceless moment I will never forget he was crying I was crying....That was the best phone call ever...He said he loved it even though he said it in the letters home I thought they the Navy were telling him to say it ...But, in his words a mother knows when their child is happy!

Then it was time to see him again November 8, 2006 Great Lakes!!! Everyone, that is a mom on here knows the feeling of this day....

Then from Nov. 06 to March of 2008 he went through A School , Power School and Proto Type... Nuclear Power School @ Goose Creek. He became so very independant during this time it was amazing!

He did get to finally come home for about a month in April 08 before going to Va where he is now on the USS George H.W. Bush....

So there it is thanks to Donna whom I don't think I would of wrote this if I didn't read her Little Sailor Story.....
