Sabine!
How are you and yours doing? Ethan was able to make it home for Christmas, and then had a serious case of homesickness when he went back. He has good days and bad days, but is learning to think positively. It's all a part of growing up. He has dog duty this weekend, but at least he is in Florida...the news is saying that it is 32 down there with the wind chill, but it is below zero in the double digits up here with the wind, so he still really can't complain...but he does. It is amazing how quickly their blood thins out when they get used to warmer overall temperatures, isn't it? How are your girls? I am a little stir crazy with cabin fever right now, since it is just the two cats, the dog and me today. I can usually keep busy during the week, and I really do enjoy the weekends most of the time, but the weather outside is nasty, and I know that I will need to go out in it at some point and get groceries...not looking forward to that at all. Hope it isn't nasty where you are! Do you get a lot of bad weather at this time of the year? We don't normally get so much snow, but we sure have been getting dumped on lately! Of course, shoveling snow is a good way to exercise if one is careful. I have a sore back, but I will live. Hope your family is happy and healthy!

Sabine,
How are you and yours doing? I am still trying to get Ethan to finalize travel plans for Christmas. He is a little down that he won't be able to come home between A school and deployment, but he says he wouldn't miss coming home for Christmas for anything, if the Navy lets him!

Yes - got the call yesterday. I'm sooooo proud of Nick. He told me he has the highest academic average in his group and is the Recruit Education Petty Officer. He has come a long way since high school!

Hi,
Glad to hear from you. My son is in Div. 321. He has told me that his division isn't doing very good. He told me the same thing. The division better pull together or they won't be graduating on 9/5. I agree with you that the whole unit won't be held back. We are driving from MA and staying at the navy lodge. I can't believe we only have 11 days left.

My father moved out west when we were kids. My family's name was Hale. :) I will have to try and scan some old photos so you can see the differences from 25 years ago.

Hi! Just saw your travel arrangment answer to a discussion, and dropped in to see where in Maine you are from. I was born in Maine and went to highschool in Livermore Falls.
But the small world that is is, my Dad lived in Poland growing up, and my Great Grandmother and Aunt owned the Marina there just down the hill from the big hotel. :)

Hi Sabine, I found you through Kathy's page. Join us in the group "Moms with more than One". I have 2 sons in the Navy. It is interesting to hear everyone's stories when there are more than one child in the military. How long has Lisa been in the Navy and where is she stationed? When is PIR for you for Laura? 2 corpsman...what made them all choose this job?

Hi Sabine! Yes, I'm going to both PIR's...we'll just stay the week :) Sara will stay at Great Lakes for A school and Ty will go out to Coronado for BUDS training eventually...as far as I can gather, the SEAL guys stay there for pre-buds then something else before leaving for BUDS.

Hello again Sabine! Sara Jane is also staying at GL for her A school (AE/CF). Maybe our girls will find one another!
