My son has found the perfect job for a teenager! When I ask him, "What are you doing?", he honestly tells me, "Sorry, Mom, I can't tell you."

Hey Beth,
Its good to here from you. All was so rushed after PIR. Joe left right after PIR for the airport. He is now stationed in VIrginia Beach, Va. Which is closer to home (Phila). You have a handsome son as well. My job keeps me so busy that by the time I get home I rarely get a chance to get on the computer. I will check in when possible on the PIR 1-23-09 site. Take care of yourself friend.

Hi Sabrina-
I regret I did not get to meet you in person while we were in Great Lakes.
I see you have a good looking Sailor...
It looks like you are hanging out in the IS group now...
Come visit the PIR 1-23-09 every now and then- Let us know how Joseph is getting along. Where is he now? Levi is still in Great Lakes.
Congratulations to you and your SAILOR!!
Your friend in Oklahoma. Beth

Hi Sabrina,
Thanks for writing- I guess I have been writing more on the PIR site than our division site...
Battlestations is coming soon- I heard that all our guys passed the gas chambers -
and as far as I know we are still in the lead for Hall of Fame
I know Wendy said her son Jason felt crudy and Levi did too last time I talked to him- a week ago Saturday.
I just went to www.weather.com and clicked on the 10 day forecast for Great Lakes- zip code 60088 It will be 28 high 14 low next Friday with a 10% precipitation.
I ordered Levi a grad care package today- The information is located in the grad pack... it was $19.00 I thought it was worth it- a t-shirt, coin, prepaid phone card, train ticket, and movie ticket ( he will have to give the train and movie ticket away if he is a grad n go) and some snacks with your message inside. Let me know if you need the number the deadline to order is next Thursday.
I can not remember - are you flying in by yourself or with other family members. I will be driving up with my mother.
We plan on splitting the trip up in 2 days.
I cannot wait.
I will keep you posted if I hear from Levi.
Please let me hear from you if you get any new information- or if you just want to chat.
I won't be leaving until Tuesday the 20th

Any time in Feb. is good for me. But I really don't drive by myself anymore so would you mind if my husband came with us?

Sorry I won't get to see you at the meet & greet.. Maybe we could do lunch sometime and get to know one another. And compare notes on our sons.

Hi Sabrina Welcome to N4M's. I'm from SWPhilly. My son Jason is a machinest mate on the Theodore Roosevelt deployed to the middle east until sometime this spring. I'd like to invite you to the SE Pa meet & greet on 1/17/09 in King of Prussia at the Cheesecake Factory. Maybe we'll see you there.

Hi Sabrina-
I hope you received a Christmas call yesterday- I did not-
I am hoping for a call on Sunday and/or another letter this week.
I received the graduation packet- no big deal, it was a business size envelope with an invitation (Levi listed the 4 names he wanted to invite-they are only allowed 4 guests)also there was a parking pass and an enclosure with business ads.

I am not sure what terminology was unclear to you-
The "RDC's" are the instructors and "PIR" is Pass In Reveiw or graduation. A grad and go is a recruit who graduates then hops on a plane to get to "A" school. "A" school follows boot camp. Some new sailors get the weekend with family following graduation-
Levi does not. I am not sure but I believe Joe is a grad n go also- ( it appears every recruit in 072 division is). It will be an expensive trip- and a tease of a visit but I wouldn't miss it. Let me know if you hear from Joe. Please respond and I will chat with you soon as I can.
I will be away from my computer for a couple of days,

I received another short letter - he thanked me for the sports updates I printed off the computer- he said he had his bottom wisdom teeth pulled on Friday... He said everything was going okay... but he could think of better places he would rather be... they had a written test one week ago today. He called my mom yesterday- They were issued uniforms- he likes all his RDC's, the food is acceptable, he said his division is grad n go- he sent the packet but doesn't expect us to come to the PIR/graduation since he is leaving for FLorida the same day as PIR.
I still want to go---
Sabrina if all goes well with your Joseph he should graduate 1-23-09. I do hope you receive a phone call from him on Christmas Day. Don't forget to light a blue candle for him.
I have been so busy- but I will try to check back with you in a day or two.
