I read that if you wrap packages TOTALLY in packing tape, they will survive if dunked and fished out - it happens.

My son is on the USS Rushmore stationed in San Diego. They just left for a 7 to 8 month run. I miss not talking to him. Anyone else have a sailor on this ship???

Hi Sallie My son was out to sea on his birthday as well. We were all pretty sad about that, but we also got a laugh when he said" Ah man! I'm going to miss my birthday." However, he did receive tons of well wishes via email. Not the same but not alone either.

That would be great, I have been camping there for 14 years. It is a nice campground.

I heard from Nick on sunday for the first time since his arrival. He sounded really good, but I cried like a baby after hearing his voice. I don't know how I am going to handle him being away so much.
I received my first letter from him yesterday. He was chosen by his Chief of the Division to have a job on his ship. I think I understand he will have some kind of responsibility of co-recruits. I am very impressed and surprised that he was chosen.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
How on the most part, the public is very supportive and thankful of the armed forces.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made
