Hi Sandy,

It's time for all of us to get together again. We are going to meet Saturday, August 29. I placed a discussion out there a while back, but with summer and busy schedules there weren’t too many responses. With that in mind, I am going to invite all who are interested to my home and we’ll BBQ and pack boxes and just catch up on our Sailors. I don’t know that I have all of the Colorado Moms on my email, so please feel free to pass this along to any on your friends list. As always the more the merrier. My address is 12165 W. 85th Avenue Arvada, CO 80005 303-463-8912 (home) 303-982-0590 (work). Please go to the event page and RSVP if you are coming.

Molly’s Adopt-A-Sailors have adopted the USS CROMMELIN. The USS Crommelin is a frigate and the home to 252 of our sailors. They are based out of Hawaii and are currently on deployment. There are 250 males and 2 females aboard.
And, not only are they happy about us adopting them, they are ecstatic!
They will be half-way through deployment about mid-September, so we are going to help them celebrate with a HAWAIIAN LUAU. Let’s show our Colorado Love.

Check out Molly’s Adopt-A-Sailor site for more details. The discussion link is August 09.

Hope to see lots of your smiling faces 

My son left July 8 and I received my first real letter 7/29. He talked about other letters but I haven't received them yet. Hang in there I bet you will get a letter soon. Blake even got to call yesterday. Wouldn't you know it that I was in a movie theater and didn't get the call. He thought he could call back on Saturday. It is hard not hearing from them but I keep covering all of our boys in prayer. Remember you are not alone.

someone sent me this email and this is how i found the questionaires; Also, I see that you are looking for questionairres to send your recruit. If you go to our PIR group (which is 08/14) and click 'view all' in our groups discussion forum, there is a discussion that I started where ladies have started posting alot of different types of questionairres that we have used. It is called "Example Questionaires to send to recruits". Feel free to copy away...or copy them and use bits and piece of them and add your own other ?'s to them. The recruits REALLY like getting these!!! It is rather fun for them and informative to us back home!!!!

While I was writing this to you, my son called!! All is good! :) I got to talk to him for 7 minutes!

There are some pretty funny questionaires that people have put together that keep it pretty light and are entertaining that you can send him. Ill find the link and send it to you. :) Sorry about the dog. What Division is he in?

Hi Sandy, my son is on ship 14 div 304. I know they are allowed to write letters on Sundays, maybe my mail just got to me faster and you will get your letter today! Today is the start of their third week, so maybe we will be getting phone calls. :)

Hi Sandy, I'm not sure how it all works out... Ryan got there on July 9th. I got a 30 second phone call. Just long enough to let me know he is ok. I received the form letter with his short note on it with his PIR date of Sept 3. I haven't had any additional letters or calls. It's nice to hear your Chris say it's not that bad there.

Hi Sandy - I spoke to Michael yesterday afternoon. I really needed to hear his voice and we've never talked so fast in our lives. He was very positive and told me he definatly made the right decision in joining the Navy.

Hi Sandy, since you can't make it to PIR, just ask some of the other Mom's for copies of their pics. When my oldest graduated in 2008, I took a pic of another Sailor whose Mom couldn't make it.....she and I emailed while they were in boot camp.
