I know this is a little late for a reply, but SD is a wonderful school. My son loved it and met his new bride while in A school. Something we sure weren't expecting, but we couldn't have asked for a better sailor partner and wife. He's finally assig…

Hi Sandy,
it's been a long time since we touched base. Our sons were in SD for sonar together. Where is your Sailor at now? Matt is on a destroyer stationed in Norfolk. He's already had one deployment to the Gulf. I drove his car back to this last April, stopped in Nashville to visit my brother and his wife and ADN from Lawrenceburg drove up and we met for the day. Did you make it to the dinner in Chattanooga last Thursday?

Hi Sandy!

How have you been? And how is your son doing? When will he finish his schooling? I hope it's soon!

My son will finish in Sept and then on to the fleet! More waiting, more worrying, uhhh, will it ever end??? lol

PS If you look below this message you will see your messages. You need to post them on the page of the person you addressed them to (cut and paste). We ALL do this. Poor design of the website!

Hi!!! i got home Sunday nite from chicago, and haven't settled down yet. Still processing the things I saw and people I met. Trey is so happy and content, and to meet his friends was so much fun. He moved into A school today and loves his quarters and new freedom. I haven't lost my little boy completely, but I love the man he's trying to be.

Matt went in as an E3, so he thinks he'll get PO in September.

Matt will be home for 10 days on the 29th and then back to SD for "Op's" until end of September. Then he goes to the fleet, looks like Virginia, but will have to wait and see....again. :)

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud, Was relieved, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
It's his choice and his career. I'm there for the prayer and support. Uncle Sam can change his mind and that's something you learn to live with. He'll serve with courage, honor and commitment wherever he's sent.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made
