Kim -I was just catching up on today's postings, and wanted to let you know that we had the same situation with our son's vehicle. I live in Ocala, and our son's truck is also in storage in Lemoore. When our son's registration and tags needed rene...
Good Morning Ladies! I wouldn't go near the stores today either for anything. I have my Christmas shopping about done anyway, and most of my baking too. I'll put the tree up today and decorate the house, then probably start doing some wrapping. I ...
Hi Ladies - Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I got an email from Robert and he didn't sound quite as depressed as yesterday. He said he was so busy serving the officers that he didn't have time to hear the General speak or think about T...
My son just sent an email saying he's really missing home and family, and is depressed. And on top of it, he's having to work extra long hours in the galley to prepare for the general's coming and serving for the holiday! Makes it even harder to k...
Hi Ladies - I got an email from my son today, and he's helping in the galley, and said there were at least 6 turkeys and a whole pig roasting. He works in the Officers Ward, so this was probably just for them. Also said he got his Christmas boxes ...
I'm doing pretty good - thanks! How have you been Laurie? We're having beautiful weather down here in Florida. I'm just getting ready to leave to run some errands. I'm going to enjoy being outside today!!
I let the Ombudsman for the Warhawks squadron know that our boxes were sent, and I've received 2 thank you notes this morning - one from the CMC and another from the Executive Officer! It was so nice of them to take time to show their appreciation...

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Scared at first, but glad that he was finally getting some direction in his life.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
Contact your local VFW. That what I did. I explained our Christmas Project and asked them if they could help with mailing the packages. I never expected them to pay for all the packages. I typed up a letter explaining our project and hand delivered it to the commander.
Give it a try.
My son's doing well, bought himself a car and he's probably spending every dime he makes on the weekends! Kids...But I do miss him so much, I know I won't see him for the holidays. Bummer
Dear Serena,
Yes! Got the emails. sorry for the delay. I had my EMT class last night and fell into bed as soon as I got home. No energy for computer time! I am enlisting the help of family, friends, casual acquaintances, strangers on the street (just kidding!) to help fill the 75 bags. All is well under control. I will have them in the mail by the 14th of November. Take care and have a great day. C

I'm so sorry that you still haven't heard from Robert but I'm sure you will soon. At least you know why he hadn't been emailing you. I guess you could always check Facebook to see if he has posted any updates.....it's like spying....lol.
Serena, that was a really quick turnaround for your son! WOW, deployed already.. My son won't be deployed for at least another 7-9 months (or so he thinks). He'll be on a ship, so that'll be a new experience for him for sure. Hopefully we'll get to see him again before his first tour, but I'm not counting on it. I'm sure your son is keeping busy and that's why he's not able to call/email you. Hang in there!
I AM SORRY SERENA BUT WAS NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU GLAD ALL IS WELL GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR SAILOR HAVE A NICE DAY P.S. YES IT IS THE SERENA IN TXAS THANKS SINCERELY ELSIE
