My name is Shannon and I live in Colorado Springs with my husband Chuck, daughter Malia (15) and son Preston (2). Our oldest son Johnathan (21) is currently at Goose Creek and is waiting for Cryptography school to begin . He has been in for a year now and has made his E-4, which I think is pretty darn good...

Hi Shannon,
My son Mike is also at NNPTC. He is an MM3 and will graduate A school on Feb. 13. How far along is Johnathan? I am always interested in getting good information about the Nuke program from other moms whose Sailors are ahead of Mike. It helps me be prepared to better support him. Right now he loves what he is doing and that helps me alot. I hope you don't mind my asking for advice from you?

Hi Shannon, my son is in week three of basic and I am concerned about this "grad and go" program. How do you know if that is what your recruit will be doing? He is set to PIR on 12/5 but has a SEAL contract and will be going to Pre Buds after PIR but I don't know how long after PIR he will have to report to pre buds, being around the holiday time I was hopeful it wouldn't be til after the new year? Any ideas?

This is way late, but when I got "the box" I had no idea what it was (I order a lot from QVC :) so I'm used to packages!) When I opened it and saw Aaron's clothes, I just sat there and cried. They really shoudl put some kind of warning on the outside. Anyway, luckily I got the first letter that same day so it helped a lot! Glad to meet other Colorado Navy Mom's!

Hello Shannon thanks for accepting my add request :) Congrats to your sailor and Mom too. I see Johnathan is going to Nuke school, awesome. My Sailor Jacob was thinking about going into that but went into the aviation field instead. He is an AE and is stationed in California. I am also from Colorado and live on the Western Slope side near Grand Junction. I am familar with the Springs as I was raised in Castle Rock (Most of my family are still there) and my parents now live in Pueblo. Please pass my congrats on to Johnathan.
