Because my husband captured it so perfectly, I'm going to copy a post he made to the Navy Parents site about our experience at PIR:

PIR Report

A lot of this will be old news to you folks with kids out in the fleet or at school, but I thought I’d report as if my audience was still going. That way I’ll pay back some of the help I’ve gotten over the last couple of months.

The weather in Chicago was terrible on Thursday, February 26th, so it was difficult to get there. We left Boise, Idaho… Continue

Thanks--I am like you as long as my son is happy so am I...and he loves everything so far...He said boot camp was the absolute hardest thing he ever accomplished and he is very success driven right now and that's kind of a good thing because school back here combined with working was just not showing any sparks so nice to have those sparks back....I didn't realize each individual C group had it's own group....I have a lot to learn! :):):)

Sharon! I miss you so much! I have been into a major issue with Alan about the ex and haven't been on much lately! Plus finals of course! But I am off for the summer except beauty school! I know I am just crazy but double the school won't hurt my loneliness any! and we have other issues which I will have to call you and tell you later. We will find out the outcome on Wednesday of the situation. I will let you know! I hope that Catie is doing well! I am sure she is! Our little super girl! I think of her often and you! Thank you so much for your friendship it is much appreciated! When do you leave for Germany? Naia's boyfriend Lee leaves June 23rd I think. He will be there for around 2 weeks. I am hoping to either get a new sewing machine or this one fixed so that I can get at least your bag ready! I have only had it for 2 and a half months so I am not sure what to do. The whole bobbin section fell apart??? It is a singer!!! And I had a Brother for 20 years that was awesome. But when I bought a new one everyone suggested a Singer! Never again! Anyway I will get it done! Love and Hugs kathy

Sharon Naia and I are so excited over the music! it is funny how many songs were on there that are our favorites! We have the same taste in music. Tracy Chapman has been one of our favorites for years. Naia's Jazz class has always warmed up to her music and that has been since she was 2 years old. And did you see Tracy singing with BB King a few years ago? Wow! Anyway I have been trying to get my homework done ahead so that when I go to Florida on Spring break I won't have any due. My spring break at work (school corp) is not for my college. Ugh! Anyway I will try and call you this weekend since I want to update you about my weight loss. I just don't understand it. I have never had this happen ever! I have been checking my sugar everyday and it is anywhere from 81 to 95 the lowest it was is 61! But we have diabetes all through both sides of my family. Both of my parents. So I thought it was that. But it really doesn't look like it. Well we will see.

How is that sweet girl of yours? I hope she is doing as well as it sounds. It sounded like so much fun going out with your friends. Those were the days. She is a lucky girl. Well I am so glad that you sent me that music it has really helped me during this time. You just must have known the right time to send it. God bless you! Hugs and Love kathy

Hi Sharon, Please don't leave the movie group. I can understand why you were offended, but I always look forward to your comments and I wish you would stay.
I was thinking a book group might be interesting, too. What do you think?

Thanks for your note the only problem I have is I don't know where to write to. I have no address. I would love to write. I am waiting for the second part. I got my "box". This week I should get the letter from whomever. I can't wait to hear something. I will feel better when I get an address. Thank you!!!!
