Maggie, Sorry to hear about your daughter. I will keep her in my prayers. I can't add anything else to say because Sam said it all and as usual, so beautifully. Sam - you are amazing. Not everyone comes out feeling the way you do after all you been…

Welcome to the group Christine. You will love this group. It will be great for you since your son will be joining the Nimitz on deployment. Great support and you will learn so much. Glad your son will be home for Christmas. Have a great one.

Oh, by the way, Justin called today but darn, I missed it. He got to talk to his Dad, so that was a good thing.

Sam, you are such a character. (I mean that in a good way, just in case there are different meanings for that word in different areas of the country.)

Sam, I can see how you feel. Congratulations to Mike. Great pictures. Do they always have a ceremony like that when they move up:? Justin never said a word about a ceremony when he moved up to E5. They were in San Diego then. Is that why?

dn- what a nice present from James. They are called Italian charm bracelets. I had bought them for my granddaughters several years ago hoping to add to them. They used to be available all over, even in kiosks in the mall but I can't find them anywhe…

Kim - I think I will try that with my son. Whatever works to hear from him. Ha! Ha! I got another email today from my son after he wrote a short email saying how busy he was and that he'd write more later. It was almost as short as the first. "nothi…

Thanks, Sam, that helps. I try to be positive in my emails. Usually when I add, "I'm getting worried." he will answer.

Hadn't heard from my son since just after they left port. Each of my emails get more and more desparate when I don't hear from him. I finally got an email that said "everythng is fine, I'll write more later". At least I heard from him but still wait…

Pat, thank you for the link to the video. Could you do me a favor and send me the letter from the ombudsman, please? I accidentally deleted it and can't find it anywhere. Thank you

Pat, I'd love to save that video. How can I do that? Thanks.

Caity - How I wish for those days also. You brought tears to my eyes. I think the closer it gets to Christmas, the harder it will be. Not our first Christmas without all the kids but the first without Justin. Have a wonderful Christmas and to all of…

Pat, that was some video. I sure couldn't be a pilot. Cindy, hope your son gets a picture. My son has a camera but not sure he knows how to get them to me. Haven't seen any of his pictures. He said I have to wait til he gets home. Sam - no we have s…

Oh, Kim, I'm so sorry about the theft. Hope they find the guy. And Julie, I will keep your sailor in my prayers. We woke up to a flood in the house this morning, a broken pipe. Not a good way to start the day.

Can always use help. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but was a little under the weather. You can help here or with another. I'd already told Pat that mine can trickle down to wherever they need to go if this group gets covered. I'm doing 350, but didn't want to leave out other Moms who have kids on the Nimitz that wanted to help their own kids out. Mine is nuke on the Stennis. How may are you thinking that you can do. My church has taken the challenge as "How big is your God?" so, 350 is no problem for them at all now. LOL!!! (And I was so afraid at first to tell them that the number had gone up from 75 to 350!) They've come up with some of the great ideas too. We have trunks for treats and are saving leftover candies to put in the stockings and asking for other people to donate their leftover candies as well. :)

Hi Sharon - Will you email me with some info about times and places we can't talk about here? I read that you talked to your sailor and I haven't heard from my son so I was wondering if you would please fill me in on what your son shared. Thanks for your time and trouble. Linda

Hi Sharon, I'm trying to put a list together so I can send the sailors Christmas cards. I don't have all the zip codes :-( Is Justin's zip 96601 or 96620? Thanks, Jane
