Tyler
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud, Was relieved, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
The navy has been the best thing that happened to my son, he has become independent and has matured. He has self worth and that he has something to contribute to his country.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

I'm so excited for HC I can't stand it;)! I'm driving down the day before, and attending the night before reception with my future dil:). I have no clue what time the ship is due in, so I guess we'll get that info the night before,as well as base passes and all that jazz:). Where are y'all staying? The night before I'm staying at the Mariott Residence, just down the street from the reception place.....I was too late to get in there. After that I got the kids a suite out on the beach for a few days. I'm going to hang out to babysit for a night, but then I have to come back home.......my little guys have school. James has some time off in the not too distant future, and they'll be comming up here for a bit:), and my 14yr old is doing Sea Cadet boot camp in june in VA beach....so I'll see everyone again then:). I'm actually heading down to see my mom during spring break, in Orlando, taking my 2 youngest with, then comming back then heading to HC.....lol.....woo Hoo for roadtrippin;)!!

You can find a better one on this site
http://www.news.navy.mil/search/photolist.asp

go all the way to the right and type in USS Theodore Roosevelt and put in photos at the top and then all the photos since deployment and ones way past that come up...you can actually download high res photos. :))
Terry told me it was on the site.
Glad you found it!

Hi Sheila:)
How's things? Haven't seen ya online on the NFM site lately......been laying low myself. I hope ya had a nice Thanksgiving:). I have to ask ya though......do you have any new pics? James said Tyler took some pics, and he was in em, and that he sent them to his mom......so, I just had to ask:).
Anyhoo.....what else is new? What are y'all doing for the holidays? Have you got any suggestions for newbies to Maryland? Lol, we're just so cold we figure, staying indoors till spring might be the way to go......but, it's not so much fun;). Ok.....hope you're well, {hugs}........

I just spent $36 on a 2-week supply of the weight-gain powder!!! I didn't want to go any further until I know for a fact that he will use it and likes the flavor (I bought vanilla, because he's not a huge fan of chocolate). Hope it works...he's always had a problem keeping weight on, and sounds like he REALLY needs it now!!!

Danny has a little more space in the squadron area than most of the sailors do...evidently the air squads have their own special quarters or something of the sort. For his birthday on Tuesday, I just sent him some of his favorite music comics (he loves Calvin & Hobbes), a couple of DVDs he wanted (he can play them in his laptop) and a couple of cheap games for his PSP...along with junk food, stridex pads and a stuffed armadillo to remind him where he's from!!! I tried to keep it generic and stuff that could be easily replaced considering the reports I've been reading lately about stuff getting stolen onboard the ship. I wouldn't send anything with too much value. I told Danny the real celebration would happen next year when that ship pulls in at Norfolk!!!
I loved being able to send a card for your son - several of my other mom friends sent Danny cards for his birthday, and I can tell you that meant more to him than he could even put into words - he got really choked up. I am so glad to be able to return the favor! And by the way, I'm sure we'll get along just great and I can't wait to see you in Norfolk when we get there to welcome our sailors home!!!
