Hi Sheila - we have a Nuke Moms group you should check out. A lot of the Nuke's go thru periods of struggle - mine is on the upswing right now. He is in Power School 0906 graduating in January.

About me:
I am a Nurse and have lived in the Bronx for most of my life. My son joined the Navy after he left college with 18 months left to finish. This was shocking ;however, he was very unhappy at school so my husband and I decided to support him

A friend of another of Karen's nuke sons just recently wrote this blog. You might be interested in reading it, also. Read Jake's first, then this. Just keep encouraging your son. He wouldn't be in the program if the Navy didn't see the potential in him. I am and will continue to pray for your son.

Sheila, do you know there is a Nuke Moms group? If you post your question there, you may find some moms whose Sailor has gone through the same thing that your son is currently going through. Thankfully, my son did not seem to get depressed but the program is so intense, it is a wonder that more don't have depression issues.

We are so glad that you are here! This is a great place to meet others that know exactly how you feel!
We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.

Please tell us about your sailor and what they have chosen to do in the navy and ohh yeah we LOVE pictures of everyone !!
