About me:
Hello, I have been married 15 years to a wonderful man named Michael who is retired Navy. He was in for twenty years. My son Nathan is stationed in San Diego on the USS Hampton. He is in Fire Control. I guess Thats not alot about me I am 47, love to scrapbook whenever I can. Can't wait for the day Nathan calls and/or tells me he can come home for a while. Thats it for now.
I am here to support or represent my:
Child/Stepchild
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Thinking about joining
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Support is the most important thing, and respecting this wonderful new independance, and patience.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi Shelly< How are you? My husband was also in for 20 years he was on surface ships stationed out of Norfolk and Mayport FL. he was a Data Systems tech DS they no longer have that rate they are no FC'S. My son is in C school he is an ET and will be stationed on a Destroyer out of Norfolk after he is done with school in April.
I was able to post those pages when I started the discussion. It had a place for adding attachments. I am not a very computer literate person so I was surprised it worked for me. LOL
I see that you are from Ozark MO. My husband went to High School in Ava MO. Small world.

Shelley,
If you send ma private email with you address I will mail you the "submarine" scrapbook extras I come across. Many of the sticker packs I have are a variety and have subs on them. My son is Rescue Swimmer, so I won't ever have a use for them. I'd be happy to forward them to you!!

Shelly, If you go to the main page there is an entire thread about safety as far as posting. You will learn all you rreally need to know there.

Sometimes it is fuzzy though as to what people consider TMI. Good luck and welcome! ~a

Shelley I checked out that site, it's great. I was able to save samples to my computer in my scrapbook file for future reference, what I liked was when I clicked on a product then you can look at pages done with those embellishments as I have the Navy pages already.
thanks friend.

Welcome to Navy 4 Moms, this is an exciting website and very informative... We would like to invite you to the Blue Candle Lighting event that occurs in your home anytime you wish to light a candle for your recruit sailor or the military in general. This is done to honor their service during the holidays, birthdays, special events or if you just want to. The Home for the Holidays/Blue Candle Moms also ask you join us in this group. This event and group has no special connections to "any one group" We are all Navy Moms, Wives, and we became Blue Candle Moms.... this included everyone on this website. Please come join us and share your stories and your lightings and your holidays with your child...this was done because some moms were not having their sailors home, and we are support group that can share feelings and fears. Annouce your child is coming home or the despair of knowing on certain holidays it is your sailor we light the candles for. To honor them for the service in the past present and future. To honor those that gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for our freedom. We celebrate the freedom to be Blue Candle Moms and the freedom to light our candles anytime we choose. Please think about our group and the Event and when responding tell where you lit your candle, and the reasons for your paticular lighting. the event will continue and once you rsvp come in anytime and update your lightings
