- About me:
- I'm a Navy Nuke currently stationed on the USS Enterprise (CVN-65). I love my job most of the time, and am here to answer any questions for those moms who want more info about the program, life in Goose Creek, life thus far on a ship (mine is in the shipyards, so I'm not a good reference....), etc.
I am married to the greatest guy in the world and with out him, I wouldn't have made it through the past 2.5 years. He is my rock and my sounding board.
I'm originally from Del Rio, TX, but grew up outside of Houston. I graduated high school in 2002 and went to Texas A&M University in College Station, TX for a little while. I joined the Navy in January 2007 and have been living the dream ever since.
I have 2 dogs and a cat. My dog Captain is a mutt and a big goof ball. Peanut is a rat terrier and never stops bouncing. My cat is named 2-Stroke...when she purrs she sounds like a little 2 stroke engine!

- When I heard “Navy,” I:
- Was proud and encouraged it
- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- Don't stress over the little stuff. Everything has a way of working out for the best in the end. Oh, and let go of the control....the only thing you can truly control is your reaction to a given situation (thanks, Senior Chief!)
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

- Shelli, My son is graduating bootcamp on the 4th of Dec and headed to Goose Creek after. I saw you were an ET and wondered if you wouldn't mind helping me to understand more about it as Jimmy said that's what he will do.

- yeah it was me... that's the new number... i've only had it since sept though... sry we can't make it up for thanksgiving... still no clue what he's changing to... or when the new orders will come back in... but i know it'll b fun spending most of this weekend making sure the old place is empty and clean... YEAH... not... gotta turn in the keys on sunday i think... yeah... glad 2 b done with that apt... but... i really really hate moving while pregnant... especially when my kid's favorite past time is make mommy sick and in pain... but oh well... i love her... even if she is a little spoil sport... that hates the smell of all alcohol... not sure where that came from... :) but not me or mike... :) ... take care... luv and miss u hun...

- she's due end of March... i'm out of the navy now... so call me... as long as it's not after 10... i go 2 bed a lot earlier now... and i don't know ur schedule... mine is basically just moving into and settling into the new house 4 the next couple of weeks... we got a new couch and entertainment center... scheduled to pick up the entertainment center 2morrow... it just got discontinued... so the took off about $300 bucks... but we have to pick it up... which really isn't bad... got 2 sets of couches... well... they're the same set... kinda... just purchased as 2 sets... so i could have 6 pieces in black and 4 in red... the red ones get here on thurs... but the black ones won't show up until mid-dec... but they're individual sectionals so... i can re-arrange it however i want... we're waiting to make sure all the bills get paid... and etc... b4 we buy the baby's furniture... we gonna try to come up there... but i don't know if we'll b able 2 make it... depends on finances and everything... i'll have 2 take lots of pictures once we get everything in... and set up... and then either email u... or bring them up with me... we got an in-ground fence for the puppy... and we're gonna install it 2morrow... hopefully... we'll get her trained not to jump the fence anymore soon... cuz she's jumped the fence at the new house... multiple times... and has run out into the road a couple of times... thankfully only in daylight so far... and when nobody was driving on the streets... but still... we all know she likes jumping fences and getting caught... other than that... things are going pretty good... mike's taking a nap... b4 he starts taking all the furniture apart so it's fit in the uhaul 2morrow... well... i guess technically it's l8r 2day... but still... take care... luv and miss u...

- Cheyenne Skylar Araki... the last one is my mom's mother's maiden name... from back in japan... i'll tell u how it's pronounced... after my grandma tells me... but we mostly calling her Sky...

I liked your idea about kind of "fostering" one of Ryan's friends... we have a guy in mind that we'd like to have as our "couch guy". But how did you do it with the curfews and everything? During the week they have to be back in their barracks by 12:15am... how did you deal with that? :)

- he's sitting at DTP... they finally de-nuked him... yeah... kinda... i don't know... could be good or bad... we'll see... i know mike has to work the saturday after thanksgiving... amd we move into the new house... all next week... yeah... this weekend we're going to Savannah... for the anniversary... but i'll talk to him about thanksgiving... luv and miss u hun...

- well... now they're talking about giving mike orders out of here around then... so he may not be around... yeah... hopefully he'll be able to stay around here long enough for us to move into the new house... and everything... but... we'll just have to see i guess...

- GUESS WHAT!!! I'M PREGNANT!!! due in Apr is what they saying... YEAH!!! still trying to see if i can completely convince Mike to come up for thanksgiving... ok... make that i have convinced him... since he's reading over my shoulder and giving me a commentary on what i'm typing...do u still think your going to have it off??? also, if we come, we'll probly bring a third person since mike's dad is planning on moving in with us... so he can spoil and help with the baby... :)
