Profile Information

About me:
I'm a Navy mother-in-law. My son-in-law is a nuclear chemist on the U.S.S. Stennis stationed on the Bremerton Carrier Base. I live in Denver, Colorado, with my husband, Greg, and my 13-year-old son, Austin. We have been a Navy Nuc family for almost two years. Dean told me when he was in the second grade, "Someday, I'm going to marry Ashley." And he did! 12 years later!

Was proud
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
To breathe. In and out as I learn to trust them completely and believe in them more. I have learned to become a mom of prayer. Trusting a mighty God that has painted a beautiful picture for their lives. I have learned to trust that picture even though I can't see it. And I have learned that in my darkest fears when the distance is more than I can handle that the most powerful place I can be is on my knees.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Hope all is well.... Corey is comming home the day after Thanksgiving. Ya Ya.. We got tickets to the USC and UCLA game he wanted to go. I am so glad they will be back to port. He is not seeing the girl from chicago anymore. (sad) She wanted to full blowen relationship with him. "He said this is not the time, I can't do that I am not in town enough." So there goes that one lol lol!!! This weekend in Halloween and a girl from our area is flying up there to see him. They are having a Halloween party. Hope things go well.

How are your kids doing??? I know your busy but when you get time, please write.

Well, you have had enough of (shit) to go around!!! Again I am truley sorry!!! Hope everyone else is doing good!. Well the ship leaves again in a few weeks for longer than we expected. No Thanksgiving. Hopefully be back by Xmas. I have one unhappy sailor. I asked him what do you expect you are in the Navy "he laughed and said I know but damm"

He is doing well. he called last night and bought a new Mac computer for $1700.00 I just about fell off my chair. See he needs to go backout to sea!!! Other than that my Grandon turns 5 months tomorrow. I just love him he is the best!!!.

Well hockey season is underway so we are busy with the Ducks games. Weather out here today is 90 hard to believe it's fall..

Corey received the Navy Marine Core Achivement Medal yesterday at a pinning cermony. It was given to 4 sailors only. We are SO very PROUD of him. It came in a box with a cetificate. It's a ribbon with a metal hanging from it.

Than he went out and got another tatoo!!! This kid of mine!!!

I hope your family is doing better. Ashley called me the night it happened and I went over to be with her until Dean got home. I hugged her and just let her cry. I was happy that Dean could be there for her though because even though it is nice to have friends around, it's not like having your husband home to be there with you. I have been praying for your nephew, especially, but also you and your family. It's tough to lose anyone, but especially tough when you have to deliver bad news over the phone. Ashley has been doing good though. I saw her last Wednesday for dinner, and I invited another young wife from this site. We had dinner and coffee on Friday and went snooping around the Halloween store. Then on Sunday she came over to my house dressed as Madonna for a dessert party. Sam from this site also graced us with her presence as Kid Rock and I dressed as Sonny Bono haha... complete with chest hair and a mustache! Sam has been homesick for Detroit, so we dressed as famous people from Detroit to make her feel better. Oh the things we are willing to do for our friends. I've told her that if she ever feels unsafe to call me and I will come by and check things out for her. There are times I feel unsafe, but my neighbors aren't creeps like hers seem to be so if I was screaming for help I know one of them would come to my rescue. Unfortunately, everyone knows the wives are home alone a lot and just because someone is in the Navy doesn't mean they aren't capable of harming another human being so we always need to be careful. Ashley knows I am just a phone call and two traffic lights away.

I am so SORRY!!! You all have had a terrible time!!! WOW.. I will keep you all in my thoughts. What a terrible thing to go thru. I am so sorry for Ashley being so far away. I dont understand why things like this happen. Only God knows why. Well Dean is on his way home, Corey said this morning they got rid of the last planes this am.
