Hi SN Thomas, Glad to see a sailor so close to me. Are you stationed at BAFB? My son is in his 3rd year, well will be on October 5th anyway. I'll be so happy when he comes home for good, I miss him like crazy. He's in Bahrain right now and was in Saesbo, Japan after he graduated A school. So, are you originally from Benton?

Hi SN Thomas! Sorry it's taken me so long to respond! Thanks for adding me. So I guess you have been given another rate? So what are you doing now? Did you go to a different A school? It's been a long time since I talked to your mom. Please tell her hello for me. My son is on the John Stennis aircraft carrier and currently in port. He was gone for 6 months on a West Pac. We joined him in San Diego for a 5 day Tiger Cruise. Totally awesome....I've posted a few pics on my page. Hope to hear from you soon and hope you're doing great!

My son was also in the corpsmen program in GL, and was sent home as an undesignated. He is in the reserves. How did you change your rate? What procedures did you have to do? What is your rate now, and did you go to A-school again?

I am sure doing a funeral for someone who has had a full life is much different then doing them for a young sailor. It is everyones nightmare to see a young persons life cut short.

I didn't know that you could change your contract. I thought once you signed it that was it? It is nice that you do the funerals. Just wish there was no one to do it for.

Hi SR Thomas-Just curious I assume you PIR'd so you are no longer a Recruit?
When did you graduate? What A school did you go too? Are you active or a
Reservist? Just wondering so I know what kind of questions I can throw at you.
My son finishes BC on Friday, so most of that is behind me. Thanks for being here for us and for serving our Country!

Hello Sr. Thomas,
I was able to talk to my son this pat Tuesday for almost a half hour, it was nice. He is sick because of the brutal weather, but he's doing ok otherwise. He has to stay in GL for week after PIR until the send him off to A school, so we are just waiting word on what happens next. I guess we'll just have to get used to this. Anyways, I got a letter from him yesterday, and he said it is -7 degrees there, WOW!. All I can say is, Layers, Layers, Layers. It will be worth it though. Well I hope you've been good, and thanks again. If I don't talk to you soon, have a wonderful holiday.

Thank you for the information. It's very useful and thank you for coming here to share information and also for serving our wonderful country! He said on the phone that he put in a request to be joined with another division so he can PIR but he said it's up to them. It would be nice to experience that but at this point all that matters is that he gets better and finishes. He did tell me he has a couple of jobs there so he doesn't get bored. He was hoping to be moved to phase 3 yesterday when he seen the doctor. I know he's looking forward to finishing and going to school. Do they have a graduation after A school?

Sorry about that. I've been a little off lately. Yah, not looking forward to the drive, but anything to get me there. I heard the weather is brutal too. My son thought about joining the reserves, but opted to go active. He is still Section Leader, has been since he got there. Are you originally from Shreveport? We go up there from time to time, just to get away. My husband delivers alot of loads that way. Well, take care, hope to hear from you soon.
